Fann went on to say it sounds like he’s going to be ready for Week 1 barring a setback. Big news for the Seahawks, Fann added. Metcalf had a knee scope two weeks ago and it seemed like it was going to be a close call as to whether or not Metcalf would be ready to go. Brown will likely take some snaps and targets away, but the hope if Metcalf's value emerges as the season progresses.

The Seahawks have re-signed Jaron Brown and placed Ed Dickson on Injured Reserve.

Brown was released but quickly brought back to the roster and is expected to still see time in 2 WR sets, especially with Metcalf battling knee issues. Meanwhile, Dickson's move to IR makes Dissly and Vannett next up on the depth chart. No one is really a safe play outside of Lockett, however, and we first have to see how the rest of the targets shake out.

Pete Carroll said DK Metcalf is "moving around this week" with hopes of a quick return. Too soon to know what that means for Week 1.

Metcalf had a minor scope on his knee about a week ago but seems to have a shot to play in Week 1. There isn't really a sure thing behind Lockett at this point, so if Metcalf plays he still comes with risks but could certainly see some targets. Moore has a broken arm and also is a big question for Week 1, leaving Brown and Ursua up next.

Rookie John Ursua appears to be part of the Seahawks’ offensive plans, particularly as injuries to DK Metcalf and David Moore have depleted some of the depth at wide receiver.

Ursua looks like he'll play slot receiver at least until the unit gets healthier. The story was mostly about the comparisons of Ursua and Doug Baldwin. At Hawaii last year, Ursua led the nation in TD receptions with 16 and added 89 catches for 1,343 yards. So far in preseason he has four catches for 100 yards, which leads the team.

Joe Fann of NBC Sports Northwest believes Jaron Brown will open the season as the No. 2 wide receiver until DK Metcalf returns.

David Moore is also out with a shoulder injury, creating the opportunity for Brown, at least in Week 1 against the Bengals. Brown had flashed during offseason workouts and now will get a chance at the starting lineup. Metcalf is expected to resume training next week, so while Metcalf may miss the opener, he may be back in Week 2 against Pittsburgh.

When first offense first took firmd in a two receiver set the two receivers were Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf.

Metcalf is just 80th on our WR list but so far early reports have been positive on the rookie. He'll be battling with Brown and Moore for playing time behind Lockett.
