CEH may have practiced Wednesday, which will be confirmed once K.C. puts out their first injury report for the week. His return is vital with Williams being a healthy non-scratch during their Super Wild Card win.

It's not a surprising move if you saw the injury - which turned out to be an MCL sprain. But the good news is CEH is expected to be back at some point, hopefully sooner than later. It's looking like Williams should get the early down work with perhaps McKinnon taking over the passing down duties.

Things looked bad for CEH and his owners Sunday night as teammates had to carry him off the field after the injury. Eventually, CEH was able to walk to the locker room to get an X-ray under his own power, although very gingerly. If the sprain is mild, he could miss a couple of weeks vs. something more moderate which could keep him out longer. Williams will likely get most of the rushing workload while McKinnon could see his time on passing downs.

The Chiefs will run with CEH, McKinnon and Williams as their top-three backs. In the 10 games where CEH played at least 40 snaps (roughly 56% snap share), he averaged 19.1 touches for 97 yards and 0.30 touchdowns per game. That equates to 13.0 fantasy points per game, which are solid RB2 numbers. Le’Veon Bell was enough of a headache to make Edwards-Helaire a shaky start on a weekly basis, but he’s since been released, so CEH’s snap share should rise in his second season.

The 49ers are shutting down running back Raheem Mostert and receiver Deebo Samuel for the season, coach Kyle Shanahan announced Tuesday.
