Sneaky Starts: Week 9
All but the luckiest fantasy owners at some point need to find the proverbial diamond in the rough—a waiver wire or bench player capable of putting up some points in a pinch. This weekly feature is dedicated to that part of fantasy football. It's not pretty, but it's part of the game.
As usual, last week’s column had several hits: Daniel Jones, Ryan Tannehill, Carson Wentz, Michael Carter, Chase Edmonds, James Conner, Boston Scott, D’Ernest Johnson, Tee Higgins, Cole Beasley, Randall Cobb, Pat Freiermuth, Dan Arnold and Tyler Conklin all performed above expectations.
As always, the rankings have the final say about which player is the best start in any given scoring format, but it’s good to dig into the thought process about some of the players who are ranked higher than normal this week.
