Jets continue making moves, and here’s another: they reached an agreement today to bring back RB Ty Johnson on a one-year deal.

Fantasy Impact:

Johnson has done most of his work as a third-down receiving threat since joining the Jets in 2020. He's a special teams contributor and shouldn't in any way impede on Breece Hall's snaps.

Jets coach Robert Saleh tells reporters that RB Michael Carter (ankle) is doubtful for Sunday.

Fantasy Impact:

Zonovan Knight (2022 UDFA) came out of nowhere last week to parlay his first career snaps into over 100 yards from scrimmage, but it will be interesting to see how the team incorporates the backfield with a full week of planning. Ty Johnson will likely rotate into third downs and James Robinson may finally find some utilization after spending his time since the trade on the bench. Knight would be an iffy RB3 if Carter eventually does miss the game.

Fantasy Impact:

It may be a little presumptive to give James Robinson the "squeaky wheel" narrative when he hasn't been on the field, but he has been very vocal about his unhappiness over being a healthy scratch even though the team traded for him. If the team decides to give in to his demands to see some playing time, this backfield will be an abject disaster of a three-headed monster in Week 13 if Michael Carter is forced to miss the game.

Michael Carter (ankle) won't practice today, but Saleh still hopeful for Sunday.

Fantasy Impact:

Carter is dealing with an ankle sprain and despite not going in practice today, the team thinks he still has a shot to play against the Vikings in an early Sunday game. If Carter can't go, Knight likely sees a decent workload and is a popular name on the waiver wire right now. Knight would seem to still have a role even if Carter plays.
