The Niners have a bye in Week 9 so Samuel's status is worth monitoring in case the team decides to rest him for a couple of weeks.

My guess is that Elijah Mitchell and Christian McCaffrey will be the main runners with Mitchell getting early-down carries and McCaffrey having more of a change-of-pace and third-down role.

McCaffrey was getting 85 percent of the snaps for Carolina. The author said he can’t imagine the 49ers want his snap counts that high, and the hope seems to be that he and the oft-injured Mitchell will save each other wear and tear. In another question from the mailbag, the author said they could turn to a thunder-and-lightning-and-thunder combination of Samuel, McCaffrey and Mitchell.

Deebo Samuel day-to-day with a hamstring injury

Samuel owners will want to monitor his practice status leading up to Week 8. The Nine play a later game Sunday afternoon so owners will probably need a backup plan at this point. Also keep in mind the 49ers have a bye in Week 9, leading to the possibility of sitting Samuel Week 8 with an extra week of rest.

DeAndre Hopkins makes his 2022 debut in Week 7, coming off his six-game suspension. Hopkins is expected to be a "full go" on Thursday Night Football.

The debut couldn't have come at a better time, as the Cardinals' receiver room is questionable at best now that they are operating without Marquise Brown, who went down with a foot injury and is expected to miss at least a month. As for Week 7 in particular, Hopkins is likely to receive plenty of volume, but his efficiency without practicing with the team is up for debate. Kyler Murray's 5.8 yards per attempt ranks 36th out of 36 qualifying quarterbacks as the offense has looked stuck in the mud all season.
Robbie Anderson, who was acquired just a few days ago, is expected to be "very limited", if he plays at all.

Anderson, if he plays, would be very limited in Week 7, leaving the WR duties to Hopkins, Moore, Green and Dortch. Eventually Anderson should be more involved as he gets more comfortable.

Kingsbury said if Robbie Anderson plays Thursday “it will be very limited.”

Kingsbury added he wants Anderson to have a comfort level in his first snaps with Cardinals. With Brown expected out a month, that would leave Hopkins, Moore, Green and Dortch as the primary targets for Thursday night. Hopkins is just returning from his six game suspension.

Cardinals’ WR Marquise Brown suffered a potentially season-ending foot injury Sunday. He is undergoing further testing today to determine the extent of the injury.

The injury update comes on the heels of a trade for Robbie Anderson, which adds up to a dismal outlook on Brown's 2022 availability. Look for DeAndre Hopkins to absorb a ton of Kyler Murray targets.

The Carolina Panthers have traded WR Robbie Anderson to the Arizona Cardinals less than 24 hours after he was kicked off his own sideline.

Though Marquise Brown went down with a foot injury that could hold him out for a minimal amount of time, it's hard to see Anderson garnering a large role with the Cardinals. DeAndre Hopkins returns from suspension Week 7 and is guaranteed to be a target hog. Anderson should not be a waiver wire priority.

Panthers WR Robbie Anderson was seemingly thrown out of Sunday’s game against the Rams by interim head coach Steve Wilks.

The drama seems to continue even after the team moved on from Matt Rhule. Anderson was seen getting in the face of an assistant coach and Wilks apparently had enough of Anderson and sent him to the locker room. Anderson was already the subject of trade talks as he has wanted out of Carolina for a while. His wish may soon be granted. He very well may have just played his final game as a Panther.

The Titans placed WR Treylon Burks on injured reserve with turf toe, meaning he will miss at least four weeks.

It’s possible he may only miss three games as the Titans have a bye in Week 6. Burks suffered the injury last week against the Colts and hasn’t practiced all week. The Titans are seemingly playing it safe with their first-round pick. The earliest he can return is Week 9 against the Chiefs.
