The Steelers are planning to start QB Justin Fields vs the Broncos

Related Players: Russell Wilson

Denver isn't the best matchup for quarterbacks, but we know what Fields can do with his legs when given the opportunity, so he is a fringe QB1 on the week for those in need.

Right now, Mike Tomlin says they are preparing Justin Fields to start vs the Broncos.

Related players: Russell Wilson

The post went on to say the team will continue to evaluate Wilson's progress with his calf injury. It's still only Tuesday, so Wilson has a chance to get better as the week goes on, and we'll likely know if that's happening based on practice reports. In a different post from beat reporter Brooke Pryor, she pointed out there is no change in the Steelers depth chart at QB, and Wilson remains the QB1. If Wilson is good enough to go, it looks like he would get the start.

Mike Macdonald, during his Seattle Sports radio show said there's no update yet on the injuries that RT George Fant (knee) and RB Kenneth Walker III (abdomen) suffered yesterday.

"Yet" could be the key word, but the post went on to say Walker did declare during postgame, "I'm good." Walker had a big day going over 100 yards with a TD, but had to leave the game during the final minutes with a muscle injury. It will be worth monitoring over the next couple of days.

The Steelers officially list QB Russell Wilson (calf) as questionable for Sunday. Justin Fields took the first-team reps today.

Related Players: Justin Fields

While Wilson should remain on fantasy benches regardless of his status, keep an eye out for Fields, who offers a much better floor/ceiling combination because of his legs. He would be a top-15 option if he gets the nod.

The Chiefs have placed RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire on the reserve/non-football illness list.

Related players: Isiah Pacheco, Carson Steele, Samaje Perine

As the post points out, it's makes the addition of Perine all that more important to the Chiefs backfield. Reports say CEH is dealing with a mental health issue and he'll at least miss the first four games of the season. Perine could fall right in as the RB2 because of being a change of pace option as well as a passing down option. Steele likely stays as the team's RB3.

Hollywood Brown is out for Thursday's opening game, but could be back for Week 2, per Ian Rapoport.

Related players: Rashee Rice, Xavier Worthy

He's almost to the four-week mark, according to Rapoport and can now at least laugh without pain, according to the post. It's no lock he's back for Week 2, and with the Chiefs seemingly fine with their young group of receivers, it's possible Brown is held out again for Week 2. The original timetable was up to six weeks. Rice and Worthy will likely be the Chiefs top-two receivers.

On a conference call, NFL’s Jeff Miller day they are closely monitoring the situation for Chiefs WR Rashee Rice, saying they’ll follow the legal developments.

My read: With his legal situation not yet settled, Rice remains eligible to begin play this season.

Related players: Hollywood Brown, Xavier Worthy, Justin Watson, Skyy Moore

If no changes come soon in Rice's criminal case, there's a very good chance he is eligible through the entirety of the 2024 season. He is currently ranked as a back-end WR2 here at 4for4.

Steelers have made their decision and Russell Wilson will be the starter for Week 1.

Related Players: Justin Fields

And the crowd goes mild. Wilson should only be considered in deep Superflex/2QB leagues, and there's no telling if he'll keep the job throughout the entirety of the season.

The Chiefs are signing veteran RB Samaje Perine to their active roster.

Related Players: Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Carson Steele

This impacts CEH far more than it would seem at first glance. Perine is a legitimate, reliable third-down option, and should be kept in mind for fantasy managers finishing up drafts this weekend.

The Chiefs are cutting Deneric Prince, per a league source.

Related players: Isiah Pacheco, Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Carson Steele

The Chiefs will ride with Pacheco, CEH and Steele as their top-three RBs heading into the season. Steele's play was impressive enough that the team was able to cut Prince as a result.
