“He sprained his shoulder . . . he is attacking his rehab. We’ll see what happens this week . . . not something we deem long term,” HC Nick Sirianni said about QB Jalen Hurts.

Hurts hasn't been ruled out yet, although as the story pointed out, there have already been huge swings in the betting line for the game. Hurts was able to finish last week's game and actually played very well in the second half to help lead the Eagles to the win. Minshew would get the start if Hurts is ruled out.

Eagles star QB Jalen Hurts’ status is in doubt for Saturday’s game against the Cowboys because of a sprained throwing shoulder suffered in the third quarter SundayThe injury isn’t considered long-term.

This would be a bummer not just because of it's obvious awful fantasy implications, but also for Hurts' MVP bid. His health is clearly more important than any of those things, so it could be Gardner Minshew for Week 16. Minshew has only attempted four passes this year but went 19-of-33 in last year's Week 18 battle against the Cowboys, with a 186-2-1 stat line.

Falcons’ RB Caleb Huntley suffered a season-ending Achilles injury on Sunday that is expected to require surgery.

Related Players: Tyler Allgeier, Cordarrelle Patterson

The injury happened early in the game, so we have a good idea of how the team will handle the workload without Huntley, whose usage has fallen off since his 16-carry Week 8 performance; after basically going neck-and-neck with Cordarrelle Patterson after the last month or so, Tyler Allgeier far out-touched him in Week 15, turning his 18 touches into 136 yards from scrimmage.
Allgeier has been a pleasant surprise this year and now has three different 40+ yard runs on the year, and could continue a heightened workload with Caleb Huntley being sidelined the rest of the year.

RB Michael Carter, who sat out last week with a sprained ankle, doesn’t even appear on the injury report.

We reported Tuesday day the thinking is rookie Knight will still have a big role in the offense even with Carter back on the field. Obviously Carter looks like he's good to go in Week 14, but it will remain to be seen what kind of workload split there will be. Given Knight's production over the last two weeks, he looks to be trending in the right direction for fantasy owners.

Since then, Zonovan Knight has emerged as the Jets’ most talented running back. He’s earned a full-time role, one he’ll keep even when Michael Carter returns from an ankle injury that knocked him out of Sunday’s loss to the Vikings. Knight totaled 103 yards — plus another 18 as a kick returner — against the Bears in his debut, and that wasn’t a fluke.

The story said the Jets have always liked Knight's skills and were grooming Knight for a role later in the season, despite being inactive for several games early on. So that time is now. It sounds like Knight will continue to have fantasy value this year, and at least split work when Carter is back in the lineup. Those thinking ahead and wondering about next year may realize it's looking like a crowded backfield when Hall is back for 2023.

Jets coach Robert Saleh tells reporters that RB Michael Carter (ankle) is doubtful for Sunday.

Related Players: Zonovan Knight, James Robinson, Ty Johnson

Zonovan Knight (2022 UDFA) came out of nowhere last week to parlay his first career snaps into over 100 yards from scrimmage, but it will be interesting to see how the team incorporates the backfield with a full week of planning. Ty Johnson will likely rotate into third downs and James Robinson may finally find some utilization after spending his time since the trade on the bench. Knight would be an iffy RB3 if Carter eventually does miss the game.

No sign of Jets running back Michael Carter (ankle) on the practice field today.

Related Players: Zonovan Knight, James Robinson, Ty Johnson

It may be a little presumptive to give James Robinson the "squeaky wheel" narrative when he hasn't been on the field, but he has been very vocal about his unhappiness over being a healthy scratch even though the team traded for him. If the team decides to give in to his demands to see some playing time, this backfield will be an abject disaster of a three-headed monster in Week 13 if Michael Carter is forced to miss the game.

The Jets made running back James Robinson a healthy scratch for last Sunday’s win over the Bears and that was not a happy turn of events for the veteran.

Robinson said that “obviously, I was upset about” not playing and that he doesn’t know what the team’s plans for him are moving forward.

While Carter‘s ankle injury may lead to a change this week, Robinson’s bid to return to the lineup probably won’t be helped by the performance of Knight. Knight ran 14 times for 69 yards and caught three passes for 34 yards against Chicago, the story said. Robinson seems to be falling down the depth chart.
