Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski will meet with team doctors and RB Nick Chubb before activating him from Injured Reserve, according to Daryl Ruiter of 92.3 FM The Fan.

It all seems like a formality before activated Chubb, but until the news is official he is not in line to play Sunday.

Browns running back Nick Chubb is practicing Wednesday and "progressing" as he works his way back from a sprained MCL. The team expects to know his Week 10 status by Friday.

Chubb returned to practice this week after being designated to return from injured reserve and it sounds like he has a good shot at playing Sunday against the Texans' porous run defense. Chubb missed over a month after spraining his MCL, but should slot right back into RB2 status given the good matchup this week. Kareem Hunt's usage will take a hit with Chubb returning, but he can also be started in fantasy in light of the matchup and his efficiency on the ground and through the air.

Chubb suffered a knee injury during a Week 4 win at Dallas. He had 335 yards rushing before making his exit. The Browns will now have three weeks to move Chubb to the active roster. Reports say he's expected to practice this week so it remains to be seen what his status will be for Week 10. With Hunt just OK during Chubb's time away, Chubb should slide right back into his usual role.

Browns coach Kevin Stefanski said TE Austin Hooper (appendectomy) will definitely be able to face Texans on Nov. 15. Stefanski said he feels good about how RB Nick Chubb (knee) and RG Wyatt Teller (calf) are progressing.

The return of Chubb isn't set in stone but it sounds like he's progressing. That would force Hunt back into a split of the workload at least. At TE, Bryant and Njoku take a hit as Hooper would return to the TE1 role. According to the tweet, we should get more updates as the Browns progress through their Week 9 bye.

Kareem Hunt has been holding down the Cleveland backfield in Chubb's absence, but his usage will be reduced to his usual change-of-pace and pass-catching role upon Chubb's return. However, as we saw before Chubb's injury, Cleveland's run-heavy scheme makes both Chubb and Hunt startable assets in fantasy.
