Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes clears concussion protocol

Patrick Mahomes was pulled in the fourth quarter of Sunday's game despite clearing the NFL's concussion protocol after taking a shot to the head because coach Andy Reid felt the Kansas City Chiefs' quarterback needed a break.

Things didn't look good for Mahomes and his owners after taking a big hit and needing help to get off the field. It's great news Mahomes cleared protocol right away, even though he wasn't put back in a game that was already over at that point. The Chiefs offense is struggling, but owners can at least breathe a sigh of relief that it looks like Mahomes should be good to go in Week 8.
