Lions Coming Off Dominant Win Over Bears
After a tough week 1 loss to the Packers, the Lions exploded on offense in week 2 in a dominant 52-21 win over the Bears. Jared Goff was 23/28 for 334 yards with 5 touchdown passes. He had a ridiculous quarterback rating of 156.0. Three of those touchdowns went to Amon-Ra St. Brown, while Jameson Williams and Brock Wright also caught a score.
On the ground, the Lions got 94 yards and a touchdown from Jahmyr Gibbs while David Montgomery added 57 yards with a TD. Detroit averaged 11.9 yards per pass attempt and 5.9 yards per rush in a fantastic win. In the first week of the season, the Lions had 22 carries for 46 yards (2.1 ypc) in the loss to the Packers.
On defense in week 2, the Lions had four sacks, five tackles for loss, and an interception.
Ravens Crushed Browns in Week 2
Just like the Lions, the Ravens rebounded from a week 1 loss with a blowout victory in week 2. Baltimore went off in the second half of its 41-17 win over the Browns. Lamar Jackson was 19/29 for 225 yards with 4 touchdown passes. He threw two scores to Devontez Walker and a TD to DeAndre Hopkins, as well as to Tylan Wallace. The Ravens struggled on the ground in the game as Derrick Henry had 11 carries for just 23 yards. As a team, Baltimore had 21 carries for 45 yards. It didn't seem to matter much as Jackson's arm and the defense forcing two turnovers led to a victory.
Lamar Jackson has thrown for 434 yards and 6 touchdowns this season without an interception. He has a quarterback rating of 136.6, and he has added a rushing score. Jackson looks like he plans to be competing with Josh Allen once again for the MVP award. Jackson is a two-time MVP, winning the award in 2019 and 2023. He has been named a First-Team All-Pro selection three times and has made four Pro Bowls.
