Perfect Fantasy Football Draft: 6th in a 10-Team Yahoo Half-PPR League
Being assigned a spot in the middle of the round in 2023 Yahoo fantasy football leagues can end up being a pain, depending on how the first quarter of the draft goes. You’re at the mercy of your league mates, as there’s only an outside shot that elite-tier of options at both running back and wide receiver may be gone before you can click “draft.” It’s not always the case, but oftentimes, you can feel like you’re playing from behind right off the bat.
While you still have an advantage over the back end of the first round, you also relinquish the opportunity for those back-to-back picks that they are allotted. Still, there are times when one of those consensus top-four options falls in your lap, and as long as you keep a cool head throughout the draft, you have the shortest lapse in between picks, which leaves you in a great spot to never feel like you need to reach.
In this article, I will walk through my favorite players in each round that should be available to me based on Yahoo ADP according to 4for4’s Multi-Site ADP and discuss my overall draft strategy from this spot.

My Plan When Drafting 6th in a 10-Team League
Roster Settings: 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 FLEX (WR/RB/TE), 1 Kicker, 1 DEF, six bench spots
My first order of business will be to see if any of the top four of Justin Jefferson, Ja'Marr Chase, Christian McCaffrey, or Austin Ekeler falls to me. Cooper Kupp would also be a wonderful “contingency” plan, though, as it can be argued that he’s still a top-three option despite some age and injury concerns.
Being that it's half-PPR, I have less of a lean on wide receivers over running backs, but I’m still hoping to have three wide receivers through the first six rounds, as an Anchor RB strategy is typically one I’m trying to employ whenever possible.
Considering we’re drafting from the middle of the pack here, there’s even less reason to reach on players than if we were 18-20 selections between draft picks. Drafting with value in mind down the board is much easier, as we will be more likely to start runs at positions instead of feeling the panic that sometimes shines through when picking on the edges.
