Perfect Draft: 11th in a 12-Team ESPN PPR League

Selecting at the back end of 12-team drafts has its advantages in 2023, as you can usually draft a high-end RB with an elite WR if you desire, or the ability to double up on top-10 WRs, particularly in a PPR format, is there for you as well.

A clear downside to drafting at either turn is the long wait between picks, but the way things seem to be shaping up this season, there isn’t a major disadvantage to drafting on this side of the board.

In this article, I walk through my favorite likely available targets each round based on ESPN ADP via 4for4’s Multi-Site ADP tool with a discussion on strategy from the 11 spot.

My Plan of Attack from the 11th Position

Flexibility is important in any draft as there are times when we have to pivot directions based on our league mates. However, going into a full-PPR format on ESPN, my goal is to either draft a pass-catching back like Austin Ekeler first if he’s available and ride with Anchor RB, or double-tap on high-end WRs and go with a Zero-RB approach since PPR scoring tends to enhance a Zero-RB strategy.

Since ESPN defaults to PPR scoring, my goal is to have at least three high-end WRs through the first five rounds and possibly four if I miss out on the elite QBs. I tend to wait on the TE position as it’s so volatile after the first few players are off the board, and I find my rosters less appealing when I pass on the top WRs for an elite TE.
