Saints WR Tre'Quan Smith (chest) will not play Week 17, while RB Mark Ingram (knee) and WRs Lil'Jordan Humphrey (illness) and Ty Montgomery (back) are questionable to play against the Carolina Panthers.
None of these players are must-starts Week 17, but Ingram is the closest to a flex play of the group.
Saints WR Tre'Quan Smith (hamstring, out) missed practice again Friday and is out for Week 1. Marquez Callaway is the clear WR1 headed into Week 1. Deonte Harris and Lil'Jordan Humphrey figure to see extra snaps with Smith sidelined.
Saints WR Tre'Quan Smith will miss Week 1 against the Green Bay Packers due to a hamstring injury, according to Zach Heilprin of 96.7 FM The Zone in Madison, Wisconsin. Smith was subsequently place on IR according to Amie Just of NOLA.com.
Related Players: Deonte Harris, Lil'Jordan Humphrey
The Saints receiving corps looks ugly without Smith who himself was a boom/bust candidate. Deonte Harris and Lil'Jordan Humphrey stand to see the biggest increase in snaps without Smith.
