Eagles Beat: WR Jordan Matthews has been 'tearing it up all camp,' 'big things' in store

The Ravens didn’t seem to have any answer for Eagles WR Jordan Matthews over the middle, be it shallow crosses or intermediate seam passes, and his touchdown grab was a thing of beauty, beating his man clean to the outside and extending to make the catch. Of course, this is nothing altogether new—Matthews has been tearing it up all camp. Regardless, it was nice to see him as a focal point of the Eagles offense while going up against another team. Big things appear to be in store for Matthews this season.

Fantasy Impact:

With Jeremy Maclin gone, Matthews will have to play more than the 65% of the snaps that he played as a rookie. He was the #24 WR in standard formats, so increased playing time should lead to a better finish. He won't be limited to the slot in 2015. He's primed to build on a strong rookie season.

Eagles to sign WR A.J. Brown to three-year extension

The Eagles and star WR A.J. Brown agreed to terms on a new 3-year extension for $96M, the highest for any WR in NFL history. He’s now under contract through 2029 & his total guarantee of $84M is also the highest.

Fantasy Impact:

The Eagles are not messing around with their top two receivers, inking this deal just 10 days after locking in DeVonta Smith. Jalen Hurts remains insulated with high-level talent.

Lions extend WR Amon-Ra St. Brown

The Lions have a deal for one of the top young talents. They agreed on an extension for WR Amon-Ra St. Brown. He gets four years and more than $120M, with $77M guaranteed.

Fantasy Impact:

Good move for the Lions, who lock in their No. 1 pass-catching option. They will still likely address the position in the NFL Draft, but that shouldn't impact St. Brown.

Fantasy Impact:

It's hard to picture this prohibiting the team from taking a QB in the NFL Draft but it certainly insulates them a little bit if they end up unable to move up where they want. Wilson's dynasty SuperFlex value will at least improve in the short term.
