2026 Draft note
A fifth-round pick out of Cincinnati who helped himself at the Senior Bowl, Allen is having a camp strong enough to matter in a situation where the opportunity is genuinely opening up. Rashee Rice's health is in some question—he's dealing with a knee cleanup and the fallout from his legal situation, though it looks like he will avoid suspension—and Xavier Worthy has yet to firmly establish himself as a reliable WR2 opposite Rice, leaving real target availability for whoever can claim it. Kansas City has 114 vacated WR targets (36.3% of WR volume) entering 2026. Matt Harmon's take is encouraging: Allen is "by no means a bunny hop slot option," with legitimate downfield chops and man coverage separation, strong hands, zero drops, and good ball-tracking that reminds Harmon of a lesser but conceptually similar version of Ladd McConkey's run-after-catch vision. He's going as the WR67, so we aren't too worried about his floor. The ceiling, with Rice's health in question and Worthy relatively unproven, is a potential weekly starter at the cost of a WR6-type pick. Worth a late flier.
