Team news: Minnesota Vikings | Page 23

The Vikings announced that they will be activating Justin Jefferson, which is no surprise because they need to do so before his 21-day practice window closes and he becomes ineligible to return to the field at any point this season.

The Vikings have a bye this coming week, but Jefferson looks like he'll be back in action for Week 14 when they play the Raiders. As the story said, Jefferson hurt his hamstring in October and has missed the last seven games while on injured reserve. He returned to practice on November 8 and has been listed as questionable to play the last couple of weeks without being put back on the active roster.

Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson was officially listed as questionable for tonight’s game against the Bears, but it always appeared unlikely he would go. And he won’t go.

Jefferson will not be active tonight, according to multiple reports.

This will be the seventh game Jefferson has missed since injuring his right hamstring on October 8 against the Chiefs. The Vikings will be on their bye next week, and their next game is Sunday, December 10 against the Raiders. It appears likely that Jefferson will make his return then, the story said.

Even if Justin Jefferson is not likely to play Monday night, as The Athletic’s Dianna Russini has reported, it’s worth considering how he’ll steady the Vikings offense when he returns.

“We’re going to weigh the options correctly, making sure that I’m feeling well and prepared to play a game,” Jefferson said this week. “And if I’m feeling good, I will play.”

The Vikings and Jefferson deployed a long-term approach with his hamstring strain from the outset of his injury, and as we all know by now he doesn't care about our fantasy teams. He and the team are prioritizing his health above all other factors. Jefferson is expected to return soon, though, and it seems like the plan all along as been to come back after the team's Week 13 bye. He is officially questionable for Monday night’s matchup at U.S. Bank Stadium against the Chicago Bears. The Vikings sit at 6-5.

The Vikings are listing WR Justin Jefferson (hamstring) as questionable for Monday’s game against the Bears.

The Vikings have done so for the last three weeks now but have yet to activate Jefferson from injured reserve. The deadline for Minnesota to do so is Wednesday. The question is whether the Vikings will activate him this weekend to play Monday or wait until Tuesday or Wednesday. The Vikings have their bye in Week 13, so the Vikings can choose to sit Jefferson one more game and give him two more weeks of rest before playing in Week 14.

Justin Jefferson said his hamstring recovery is going well and that he has reached top speeds during practice. He wasn’t ready to say if he thinks he can play Monday night tho. “If I’m feeling good, I will play,” he said. More to come.

Related Players: Jordan Addison, K.J. Osborn, T.J. Hockenson

Addison and Hockenson should continue to be started in all lineups. As for Jefferson managers, hopefully we can survive long enough to get him back in our fantasy playoff lineups.

Justin Jefferson is not expected to play on Monday Night Football in Week 12 against the Bears because of his hamstring, per a team source. The Vikings are not going to push their best player to get back on the field despite the fact that they are in the playoff hunt. This all makes sense as it will give the receiver two more weeks of rest from game action, thanks to the Vikings being on their bye in Week 13.

Addison and Hockenson should continue to be started in all lineups. As for Jefferson managers, hopefully we can survive long enough to get him back in our fantasy playoff lineups.

Ravens’ WR Rashod Bateman left practice early today with a foot injury, but HC John Harbaugh said Bateman “should be fine.”

Related Players: Zay Flowers, Odell Beckham, Nelson Agholor

Bateman has been a complete nonfactor in fantasy football, and a foot injury obviously isn't going to help anything. he has more than three targets in only two contests and his Week 11 touchdown was the first of his season.

Packers RB Aaron Jones (MCL) likely to miss Thursday’s game; The Colts released former All-Pro LB Shaq Leonard; The Chargers are placing edge Joey Bosa on Injured Reserve.

Related Players: A.J. Dillon, Emmanuel Wilson

Dillon is the obvious beneficiary if Jones misses, but he has been woefully inefficient with his touches this season. Consider him a fringe RB2/RB3 on Thursday.

Packers running back Aaron Jones looks like he’s going to miss Thursday’s game in Detroit.

Jones hurt his knee in Sunday’s win over the Chargers and Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that he has been diagnosed with an MCL sprain. He is considered unlikely to play on Thanksgiving and will be week-to-week moving forward.

Related players: A.J. Dillon, Emanuel Wilson, Patrick Taylor, James Robinson

The story went on to say the Packers had Wilson go down with a shoulder injury shortly after Jones was injured and both players were listed as non-participants in practice on Monday. The Packers signed Taylor to the active roster to go with Dillon, and Robinson was added to the practice squad. The team will likely roll with Dillon as their main back in a tough matchup against the Lions

Vikings star receiver Justin Jefferson has not played since Oct. 8 when he injured his right hamstring in a game against the Chiefs.

He has practiced the past two weeks on a limited basis but was questionable for the past two games and didn’t play.

Vikings coach Kevin O’Connell said Jefferson is considered questionable for Monday Night Football, too.

O'Connell went on to say Jefferson had a really good week last week and the extra day could work in Jefferson's favor as well. As the story went on to say, the Vikings want to “be smart” with the soft-tissue injury, something Jefferson himself said he would do. Jefferson noted that hamstring injuries can linger and come back, so he won’t push to return until the leg is fully healed, the story went on to say. The uncertainty and the game being on Monday night won't help owners who would love to get Jefferson back in fantasy lineups. The best plan would to play Jefferson in your flex spot and try to have a capable replacement ready to go if Jefferson is out again. Adam Schefter has mentioned a logical return for Jefferson could be after the team's Week 14 bye.
