Jets first-round pick Omar Cooper appears set to miss some time after injuring his ankle in the team’s Week 1 win over the Titans.

According to the story, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Cooper is considered week-to-week after an MRI showed he suffered a sprain. Rapoport adds that the hope is that he is able to return within the next four weeks, which suggests that the wide receiver is not considered a candidate for injured reserve as that move would rule him out for at least four games, the story went on to say. Wilson is of course the team's WR1, but Mitchell had three catches for 60 yards.

Cooper will undergo an MRI Monday to determine the extent of the injury and how much time he will miss. Cooper hauled in his lone target for 30 yards. Depending on the severity of the injury, Cooper could be a short-term injured reserve candidate. Garrett Wilson (6-79) and Adonai Mitchell (3-60) led the way in the passing game for the Jets while fellow rookie Kenyon Sadiq caught three passes and had a rushing touchdown in the win.

Breece Hall said Thursday that he is ready for Sunday’s opener against Tennessee after recovering from an August groin strain. He practiced fully for the second consecutive day and said he can handle a full workload.

Offensive coordinator Frank Reich indicated that Hall will be used normally unless the medical staff recommends otherwise. Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis will remain available behind him.

Hall’s consecutive full practices and expected normal workload remove the remaining concern surrounding his Week 1 availability. He can be started as an RB2 against Tennessee. Allen remains the preferred backup but does not appear likely to receive an injury-related workload boost.

Running back Breece Hall remains on the right path to be in the lineup for the Jets against the Titans in Week 1.

Jets HC Aaron Glenn said at a Tuesday press conference that he is “trending towards playing” on Sunday. Glenn added that Hall will be practicing this week. It sounds like Hall will be in the lineup for Week 1 - as long as all goes smoothly between now and gameday, according to the story.

The Jets landed a new kicker Monday.

The team claimed Blake Grupe off waivers, a day after the Colts moved on from Grupe.

The story pointed out the Jets desperately needed to address the kicking position after a lackluster competition this summer between Jason Sanders and Cade York. Sanders ostensibly won that competition when the team cut York last week, but Sanders then missed an extra point and a field goal in Friday’s preseason game against the Giants.

Rookie Cade Klubnik made the cut to the 53-man roster as the only backup to Geno Smith and head coach Aaron Glenn said at a Monday press conference that the team plans to stick with the fourth-round pick as their No. 2 at the position.

“He’s our backup quarterback and he’ll do a good job,” Glenn said.

The Jets didn't make a move for another QB, leaving the job to Klubnik, who was a a three-year starter at Clemson. He landed in the fourth round after his production dropped in his final college season, the story pointed out. Klubnik had a nice a camp and garnered positive press at the same time. Klubnik was a popular, later round dynasty pick in drafts, and while he won't hold value in typical fantasy leagues right now, it's easy to see a path to start some games behind the 36-year-old Smith.

Jets running back Breece Hall has missed the last week of work with a groin injury, but the team isn’t showing much concern about his status for the season opener.

Head coach Aaron Glenn said on Monday, via multiple reporters, that Hall is on track to play against the Titans on September 13.

Glenn said that the team also expects tight end Kenyon Sadiq to play in the opener. The first-round pick has been sidelined after a procedure to address a hernia.

The story said video from Monday’s practice show Hall moving well on a side field as he goes through the rehab process. Hall was expected to miss 2-3 weeks but seems to be on track with that timeline which would have him ready to go Week 1 at Tennessee in an early window game.

Glenn said he expects Hall to be ready for the regular season opener vs. the Titans, but it's still worth monitoring. If you plan to be a Hall owner, drafting Allen may be a good idea. He's had a good camp and could end up going earlier in drafts, especially with the Hall news. The Jets could bring in another back with Davis also out for a bit.

Glenn added, “I don’t think it was a big deal, but I want to make sure I get the evaluation on that.” Glenn added Hall will undergo imaging tests to ensure the Jets have the right answers on his injury. Allen has looked good in camp and will likely slide into the team's RB1 role if Hall misses time in practice.

One thing is clear: Garrett Wilson is a focal point of the passing attack. The Jets and offensive coordinator Frank Reich want to get him the ball. He’ll see his targets.

As a result, the story went on, it takes a little bit for a quarterback and receiver like that to get on the same page.
