The Colts did not practice today, but on their estimated report:

- RB Jonathan Taylor was a full participant
- WR Michael Pittman, Jr. was a limited participant
- RB Zack Moss was a non-participant

Still early in the week to project exact usage for the Colts skill position players with so much still up in the air, but we'll keep an eye on it. If Pittman does go, he is in a decent spot against the Falcons, and would boost Gardner Minshew into streaming consideration.

Colts WR Michael Pittman Jr. was ruled out of Saturday's game against the Steelers with a concussion.

Pittman took a scary hit, one that got Steelers safety Damontae Kazee ejected. He was incredibly able to walk off the field under his own power. Pittman was having a very nice game with four catches for 78 yards. A very unfortunate sequence of events for a Colts team trying to reach the playoffs.

Despite not practicing at all this week, Colts rookie WR Josh Downs (knee) is questionable to play on Sunday against the Patriots.

Not looking great for Downs, who is in the midst of an impressive rookie campaign. It's possible that second-year option Alec Pierce could get a little more of the target share after being phased-out of first-read routes here in his rookie season.

The return of both WRs would be a welcome one for the Colts, especially Pittman. PIttman missed Week 2 but reports said he'd have a shot to play in Week 3 so this is encouraging. The Colts had to roll with Campbell, Dulin and Strachan in Week 2 and were blanked by the Jags. Dulin did post a 5-79-0 line in Week 2 and could still be a factor in the offense going forward.

The Colts have plunged Alec Pierce straight into the deep end, and over the next month, we’ll see how well he can swim. Rarely does a wideout begin his career strictly with the first-team offense; Pierce has been with the starters from Day 1. A lot’s been thrown at him, including the Colts’ voluminous playbook and the demands that come with playing wideout for a Frank Reich team.

The story said not only is the playbook among the most extensive in the league, but Reich also mandates that each receiver knows each position (X, Y and Z). There’s plenty to take in. Sometimes too much. Pierce is learning. He’s making mistakes, but he’s also flashing every bit of the ability that drew the Colts in last spring, the story added. We have Pierce as the team's WR2, behind Pittman. Pierce looks to be in a good spot if he can keep things going as Matt Ryan takes over at QB.

"I cannot emphasize how strongly we feel about Ashton Dulin," coach Frank Reich said. "He's going to play a role in this offense. He's proven it. He's earned it.

"He's a playmaker. We love him. We're all planning on him making a significant contribution to not only special teams but to the offense this year."

Dulin's game was originally built on speed but he has added muscle to change his game and his style. Nate Atkins, the author of the story, said each day of Colts training camp so far has produced a “wow” play from Dulin. The Colts certainly aren't loaded at WR so Dulin has a chance to earn snaps going forward.

Colts WRs Parris Campbell (abdomen) and Michael Pittman Jr. (ankle) are questionable for Week 2 according to the team's official injury report. Both injuries are new according to George Bremer of CNHI.

Bad news for the Colts as the Rams high-powered offense and defenses come to town. If one or both miss, look for Zach Pascal and Nyheim Hines to get boosts.

Colts GM Chris Ballard told reporters Wednesday that WR T.Y. Hilton will go on Injured Reserve but will be designated to return if healthy.

The longtime Colt is in the sweet spot of the aging curve for declining play and injuries have not been kind to him. This is an immediate boost for the rest of the Colts wideouts and allows more work for running backs out of the backfield.

Colts WR Michael Pittman Jr. is questionable for Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to the team's official injury report.

The Colts should take care of the Jags without much, but Pittman has been a solid WR2 in their offense.
