Steelers TE Pat Freiermuth, QB Kenny Pickett, and CB Levi Wallace have been cleared and are no longer in concussion protocol.

It's uncertain at this time if Pickett will regain the starting role from Mitch Trubisky but Freiermuth will assuredly send Zach Gentry deep down the depth chart. During the starting TE's absence, Gentry managed to accrue four yards on one reception. Freiermuth is right back to a top-ten option against a Dolphins defense that ranks 22nd in aFPA to the tight end position.

Pat Freiermuth joins a host of other very important pieces for the Pittsburgh Steelers, most of whom are on the defensive side of the ball.

Zach Gentry took advantage of his heightened opportunity in Week 5, with five of his six targets in the game coming after the departure of his fellow tight end. Pittsburgh has the seventh-highest pass rate on the season, and things didn’t switch up for Kenny Pickett’s first start, as he dropped back 56 times in the 38-3 blowout loss to the Bills. Gentry is available in 99% of Yahoo leagues for those desperate, assuming this game could follow a similar game script.

The unfortunate part of this too is that this isn’t the first concussion for Freiermuth in his playing days, so the Steelers may be extra cautious with him. The Steelers have, probably expectedly, been completely shut down by the Bills today and it doesn’t get any easier because they host Tampa Bay next week. It’s becoming a nightmarish season in Pittsburgh.

This updates a post from earlier today where it was reported Harris hopped off the field on Monday after a possible injury. Obviously good news Harris is reported to be back at practice today.

With Eric Ebron out of commission, Gentry would be next up for the Black and Gold. It's possible Freiermuth can clear protocol by Sunday. The Steelers play a later afternoon game in Week 13.

Ebron, who got injured Week 11, is waiting on a second opinion but a procedure is the likely approach as of now, the tweet went on to say. Ebron was coming off a 3-29-1 game in Week 11. He was targeted three times in the contest, his highest all season. Freiermuth remains cemented as the team's TE1.

Steelers WR Chase Claypool (toe) will not play Week 10 against the Detroit Lions.
