Commanders WR Stefon Diggs was back at practice Thursday after missing Wednesday with a hamstring injury, according to Tashan Reed. Terry McLaurin, also dealing with a hamstring injury, was absent from Thursday warmups after missing Wednesday. Their official Thursday participation designations remain pending.

Diggs’s return is encouraging for his availability and Daniels’s receiving options. McLaurin’s second absence adds concern ahead of Sunday. If McLaurin sits, Williams remains a player to consider in deeper leagues. Diggs’s participation level and Friday’s report will help determine confidence in starting him.

Offensive coordinator David Blough said Thursday that Jayden Daniels is “full go” when asked whether the quarterback’s return from an elbow injury would limit Washington’s game plan against the Giants.

Encouraging clarification for his return. The current projection still assigns a modest rushing contribution, so his receivers’ availability remains a meaningful part of the Week 5 outlook.

Jayden Daniels was a full participant Wednesday as he works back from a dislocated left elbow. The full practice puts Daniels on track to return against the Giants after missing Washington’s previous two games.

The news was less encouraging at WR. Stefon Diggs appeared on the injury report with a hamstring injury and did not practice, while Terry McLaurin remained sidelined by the hamstring strain that kept him out last week. Chigoziem Okonkwo, Jacory Croskey-Merritt and Rachaad White were limited.

Daniels can return to fantasy lineups if he avoids a setback, although the potential absence of both starting WRs would lower his passing ceiling. Diggs’ Thursday participation will be important because this is a new injury. If Diggs and McLaurin are both unavailable, Williams would lead the WR group, with additional opportunities available to Okonkwo, Burks and Brown.

Terry McLaurin was added to Washington’s injury report Friday with a hamstring issue. He practiced on a limited basis and is officially questionable against Indianapolis.

The injury had not appeared on either of Washington’s first two practice reports.

A late-week hamstring addition creates legitimate risk even if McLaurin is active. The 9:30 a.m. ET kickoff will at least provide fantasy managers with an early answer. Diggs would become Washington’s safest WR if McLaurin sits, while Okonkwo and Williams could absorb additional targets.

Dan Quinn said Jayden Daniels will be OUT on Sunday. Marcus Mariota will start again.

Mariota remains a viable QB2 and emergency one-QB streamer against Indianapolis after accounting for three touchdowns in his first start. Daniels practicing all week keeps a Week 5 return within reach, but fantasy managers should not assume he will automatically be cleared next week.

Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels was seen throwing at Thursday’s practice, marking his second consecutive day of on-field work.

Daniels’ continued participation keeps a Week 4 return in play, although Friday’s evaluation remains the key checkpoint. The 9:30 a.m. ET kickoff ensures fantasy managers will have his official status before the main Sunday slate. He would be an early-morning click with rushing upside for a QB1 return.

Commanders HC Dan Quinn said QB Jayden Daniels will be limited in practice this week.

Related Players: Marcus Mariota, Jacory Croskey-Merritt, Rachaad White, Terry McLaurin, Stefon Diggs, John Bates, Ben Sinnott

Daniels’ limited designation is encouraging for his broader recovery, but Wednesday’s walkthrough offered little evidence that he is ready to play. Thursday and Friday will provide more meaningful tests of his elbow and ability to operate while wearing the brace. Mariota remains the appropriate Week 4 placeholder, though Daniels’ return would raise the ceilings of McLaurin, Diggs and the entire Washington offense.

Commanders GM to @JunksRadio about Jayden Daniels’ injury: “As of right now, surgery is not on the table and we haven’t discussed IR.”

This is the first concrete indication that Daniels could avoid an extended absence, although fantasy managers should not treat “quick return” as an established timeline. Mariota remains a low-end Superflex option for Week 3, with McLaurin and Diggs sitting alongside one another as WR3 plays. Daniels should remain stashed wherever possible.

Commanders game status:

OUT
TE Chig Okonkwo (hamstring)
LB Frankie Luvu (groin)

Related Players: John Bates, Ben Sinnott, Terry McLaurin, Stefon Diggs, Jayden Daniels

Bates and Sinnott should absorb the available tight end reps, but neither is a compelling fantasy replacement. Okonkwo’s absence could produce a modest target bump for McLaurin and Diggs rather than creating a usable tight end streamer.

Former Patriots WR Stefon Diggs is set to sign with the Commanders, sources say.

With an offseason at full health, Diggs is ready to hit the ground running as a key weapon for Jayden Daniels in Year 3. The QB-friendly WR should help.

Related Players: Terry McLaurin, Antonio Williams, Luke McCaffrey, Treylong Burks, Jayden Daniels

Washington is about as favorable a late-summer landing spot as Diggs could have found. He gets a strong quarterback in Daniels and a clear path to the No. 2 receiver role without being asked to operate as the unquestioned centerpiece of the passing game. Diggs should enter the rankings as a fantasy WR3 candidate, while Williams, McCaffrey and Burks all lose appeal. McLaurin’s ceiling takes a slight target-volume hit, although the overall improvement to Washington’s passing offense helps offset it.
