Squirrel Patrol’s Week 8 NFL Main Slate DFS GPP Picks

*Saturday Night Update* There has been a major change in injury status since Friday, with Lamar Jackson now looking out for the Ravens and Kirk Cousins starting for Atlanta. This clearly removes Lamar Jackson (and Michael Penix) from consideration, and with the corresponding line drops I believe Tyler Huntley and Zay Flowers should only be used for mass multi-entry. Derrick Henry remains in play at the RB position, particularly on DraftKings. Jalen Hurts gets elevated to my top QB play on DraftKings, and gets an honorable mention on FanDuel. Joe Flacco moves to an honorable mention at the QB position on DraftKings, and Cousins is an off-the-radar play (or an honorable mention if he sees high ownership). See the weekly cheat sheet for additional plays and details.

Week 8 brings a 10-game main slate on Sunday, with our biggest set of bye weeks so far, but no international game and just one game on Monday night. We continue to see larger prize pools on both FanDuel and DraftKings, including two Millionaire Maker tournaments on DraftKings.

This week comes with some large spreads, with 7 of the 10 games holding a spread of 6.5 points or more. This is making it difficult to target full game environments, but creating some large team totals like the Colts (31.0), Ravens (28.0), and Broncos (27.0). Injuries continue to make an impact, with big names like A.J. Brown officially out, and Breece Hall and D’Andre Swift listed as Questionable.

Let’s break down the positions, spotlight some of the best DFS options, and map out a path to the top of the leaderboards this Sunday.
