GB WR Davante Adams - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 vs Tennessee

Davante Adams is human after all.

The all-pro WR had his worst game of the season as he caught 7-of-10 targets for only 42 yards. By far his lowest yardage total in healthy games this season, the combination of consistent pressure on Aaron Rodgers and a surprisingly tight secondary shut down any potential big gains for Adams. Regardless of this outcome, Adams will still finish the season as an elite WR1 and he might save his best for last in this Week 16 matchup against the Tennessee Titans.

Tennessee currently ranks 28th in aFPA to WRs this season and are fresh off surrendering a 10-112-1 stat line to Lions’ WR Marvin Jones. It goes without saying, but fantasy managers know to shrug off last week’s performance and to expect a big game from Adams during the fantasy title game. Expect Adams to produce elite WR1 numbers this week.

GB WR Davante Adams - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs Carolina

Adams had another monster game last week against the Detroit Lions as he caught 7-of-10 targets for 115 yards and one touchdown. Adams has been unstoppable all season and has truly had one of the more remarkable WR seasons in recent memory. He has a touchdown in eight straight games and has had at least 105 receiving yards in five of those games. There are levels to this WR stuff and Adams is on a tier of his own.

Week 15 brings on the Carolina Panthers who rank 14th in aFPA to WRs this season, however, they are coming off consecutive games in which they’ve given up a two-touchdown receiving day to rookie WRs in Denver's KJ Hamler and Minnesota's Justin Jefferson. Regardless of matchup, Adams will continue to get fed and continue to embarrass any DB who tries to get in his way. Fire him up an elite WR1 for the remainder of the fantasy playoffs.

GB WR Davante Adams - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

strong>Week 14 at Detroit

Adams continued his path of destruction last week against the Philadelphia Eagles, finishing the game with 10 receptions for 121 yards and two touchdowns. Adams was back to seeing double-digit targets with 12 after consecutive games of failing to do so. He has been truly been a treat to watch this season and along with Kansas City Chiefs WR Tyreek Hill, remain the only WRs to be worth their first-round price from the summer. While Adams is tied with Hill for most receiving touchdowns this season with 11, he is top-six in the league in targets, receiving yards and receptions—a feat made more impressive given that he missed two games this season.

Week 14 brings on the Detroit Lions who currently rank 24th in aFPA to WRs this season. Adams was injured when these two rivals met earlier this year, but there should be little doubt that Adams will inflict some serious damage to this secondary. As matchup-proof as it gets in fantasy football, expect another impressive showing from this week’s top-ranked WR1 in the first week of the fantasy playoffs.

GB WR Davante Adams - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

strong>Week 13 vs Philadelphia

Adams had yet another great game last week against the Chicago Bears, as he turned his nine targets into six receptions for 61 yards and one touchdown. This made consecutive games that Adams did not see double-digit targets, however, he managed to score a touchdown in his sixth-straight game, so he is remaining incredibly efficient. The “lack” of targets last week could be attributed to the Chicago offense giving Green Bay excellent field position throughout an uncompetitive game.

Week 13 brings a soft matchup for Adams as the Philadelphia Eagles are ranked 20th in aFPA to WRs this season, and just gave up a career-high 177 receiving yards to Seattle’s DK Metcalf. As we approach the end of the fantasy regular season, Adams has been absolutely dominant this year, as he leads the league in both receptions per game and yards per game with an 8.2-100.9 stat line. Also, his 11 receiving touchdowns is tied for fourth even though he missed two games earlier this season. Davante Adams remains our overall WR1 for this week.

GB WR Davante Adams - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 vs Chicago

Adams had yet another excellent game last week against the Colts as he caught seven receptions for 106 yards and one touchdown. Even though this was Adams’ fourth 100-yard game, this was his first healthy game without double-digit targets as he ended the game with nine. There is plenty of opportunity for Adams as he continues to operate as the clear-cut target hog one this offense, however, it was encouraging to see this level of production from Adams with his less than typical workload.

Week 12 brings an exceedingly difficult matchup for Adams as the Bears rank second in aFPA to WRs this season. Kyle Fuller has been one of the best lockdown CBs in the NFL, however, Adams is in a league in his own when it comes to talent. Virtually matchup-proof at this point, Adams will continue to see ample volume and should be trusted as an elite WR1 even in the toughest matchups.

GB WR Davante Adams - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 at Indianapolis

Adams had yet another strong game in Week 10 against the Jaguars as he turned his 12 targets into eight receptions for 66 yards and one touchdown. Adams’ score was a thing of beauty as he elevated in a one-on-one situation to sky for the ball and secure the touchdown. Adams has now seen double-digit targets in every healthy game he’s played in this season and has now scored a touchdown in four consecutive games having a total of seven in this stretch. Adams has been nothing short of amazing this year, but he’ll have a tougher than usual matchup this week against Indianapolis.

The Colts are ranked 10th in aFPA to WRs this season and have been one of the bigger surprises of the 2020 season as they boast one of the truly elite defenses in the league. Not to say that the former doesn’t matter, but Adams is as close to matchup-proof as it gets in fantasy football. Expect a lot of targets and another great game for Adams who should be viewed as an elite WR1 option this week.

GB WR Davante Adams - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs Jacksonville

Adams had yet another dominant game last week against San Francisco, as he saw 12 targets which he turned into 10 receptions for 173 yards and one touchdown. Adams was once again untouchable in this one as he torched the Niner secondary for his second-highest receiving total of the season.

Last week’s game made four consecutive games in which Adams had double-digit targets and five total in all the healthy games Adams has played in. It’s automatic at this point, but Adams is in the ideal WR1 scenario as his talent along with an elite QB and virtually no target competition means Adams will continue to eat all season. A Week 10 matchup against the Jaguars means he’ll be facing against the 21st ranked aFPA defense against WRs, so it is yet another excellent matchup for the All-Pro wideout. As it has gone all season, expect Adams to finish as the overall WR1 this week.

GB WR Davante Adams - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 at San Francisco

Adams had yet another stellar game last week against Minnesota, as he turned his 11 targets into seven receptions for 53 yards and three touchdowns. As it has gone all season when healthy, Adams was a target magnet and seemingly the only receiver Aaron Rodgers was looking for. It’s clear that no matter what the matchup is, Adams’ combination of talent and opportunity make him matchup proof.

Week 9 brings a potentially difficult matchup in the Niners and the 12th ranked defense in terms of aFPA to WRs this season. However, this San Francisco defense did just surrender a huge game to Seattle’s DK Metcalf and has been vulnerable against elite WRs all season. With Green Bay potentially down Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams, Adams might see even more targets on Thursday Night Football, but at any rate, he’s our top-ranked WR this week and should have another phenomenal performance.

GB WR Davante Adams - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs Minnesota

What is there to say about Davante Adams? Nothing really, except that he might just be the best WR in the NFL and he continued to prove his cases this past week against Houston as he turned his 16 targets into 13 receptions for 196 yards and two touchdowns. An already abysmal Houston secondary was taken for a ride trying to cover Adams as he was getting open at will, beating everything from double- and bracket coverage. In the three games Adams has been healthy, he has seen double-digit targets and is seeing a ridiculous 21.2% target rate.

Adams will once again square off against the Minnesota Vikings, the divisional rival he torched in Week 1 to the tune of 14-456-2 on a season-high 17 targets. With Aaron Jones expected to miss the game, Adams should once see comparable production. Yes, as crazy as it sounds, Adams can once again for a stat line of 10-150-2. With the combination of talent, elite QB play and incredible target volume, Adams is our slam dunk WR1 entering Week 8.

GB WR Davante Adams - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Houston

After missing the previous two games due to injury, Adams’ first game back against Tampa Bay saw him not skip a beat as he finished the game catching six of his ten targets for 61 yards. The yardage is something fantasy managers would have liked to an increase of, however in a game where Aaron Rodgers and Green Bay was stymied, Adams still saw almost one-third of Rodgers’ passes. Most important of all, Adams made it out of the game without any injury setbacks.

Heading into Week 7, Adams will face against the Houston Texans defense who are ranked 19th aFPA against WRs this season. With the entire Green Bay offense looking to rebound after an embarrassing performance in Week 6, expect Adams to once again be an absolute target hog against Houston and produce elite WR1 numbers.
