NFL Beat: Some believe Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) could play Week 3

Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) has not yet been ruled out of the Week 3 contest against the Seattle Seahawks. During an appearance on 93.3 KJR Seahawks radio, Jori Epstein of Yahoo Sports said, "There are some around the league who think he may play in Seattle this weekend."

Fantasy Impact:

It would seem unrealistic to see Tua back on the field this quickly, but this report at least leaves the door open. He would need to pass protocol, and then beyond that there are obvious questions about rushing him back that soon given his history. This will be worth monitoring for the rest of the week. The Dolphins-Seahawks game is a later game on Sunday. We're sure to hear more about Tua's progress through protocol as the week goes on.

The post went on to say the decision has not been discussed with Tagovailoa. It may be a glimmer of good news as far as Tua's status goes, but owners should still be prepared to be without him just in case this ends up being long term. Thompson will likely be a popular pickup given the talent around him alone.

Dolphins sign QB Tyler Huntley

Per Tom Pelissero of NFL Media, the Dolphins will be signing quarterback Tyler Huntley from Baltimore’s practice squad.

Fantasy Impact:

With Thompson expected to start with Tua out, Huntley doesn't have experience in the offense as the now backup QB. The piece went on to say C.J. Beathard, who knows the Miami offense from his time in San Francisco, was on the short list. Others, like former Dolphins backup quarterback Mike White, were not, the story added. Huntley, of course, was Lamar Jackson's backup, even making the Pro Bowl. He was signed by Cleveland, but eventually cut and was back in Baltimore as the QB3 behind Josh Johnson.

Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa leaves TNF with a concussion

Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa suffered a concussion and was quickly ruled out during the second half of Thursday night's loss to the Buffalo Bills.

Following his exit, Tagovailoa remained at Hard Rock Stadium in the locker room and did not leave for a hospital. Head coach Mike McDaniel, who spoke with Tagovailoa on the field and in the locker room, said his quarterback was "in good spirits."

Fantasy Impact:

Thompson is very likely to get the start in Week 3 with this being one of many recent concussions for Tagovailoa. He doesn't need to be started in fantasy leagues of any size.
