Bengals Beat: QB replacement would come from outside

In all likelihood, the quarterback capable of breathing life into the Bengals’ season isn’t on the roster.

Current backup Brett Rypien and practice squad quarterbacks Sean Clifford and Mike White are not in consideration to replace Browning this weekend against the Packers.

Any options left open to, theoretically, replace Jake Browning in Green Bay would have to come from outside the building.

Fantasy Impact:

Reports Tuesday say the team has released White, which could be an indication a new face is on the way in. Three of the bigger names to be stop-gaps until Joe Burrow returns are Cousins, Wilson and Winston, but it remains to be seen if the Bengals pull the trigger and make a deal. The Bengals are hoping to stay in the hunt until Burrow returns and the talent is still there on offense. It also looks like Browning has another chance this week to keep his starting spot.

NYJ QB Mike White - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 at Seattle Seahawks
Mike White has been physically cleared to return and Zach Wilson has been relegated to third string again. White has played in three games this season and averaged 317 passing yards per game. He threw three touchdowns in one game, two inteceptions in another game and had a third game where he threw zero touchdowns and interceptions.

The Jets hit the road and visit Seattle who is ranked 15th in aFPA to quarterbacks. White has shown he can put up good fantasy numbers in the NFL so this could be sneaky waiver wire pickup if you don't have any other choices.

White only ranks a QB2 for Week 17 so it is preferred he stays on the bench, but it all depends on your quarterback situation.
