Gutekunst’s comments do not mean a suspension is imminent, but they reinforce that fantasy managers cannot dismiss the possibility. Jacobs remains a back-end RB1, although his unresolved disciplinary status adds meaningful risk at his fourth-round price. Lloyd becomes an increasingly worthwhile late-round selection as the likely beneficiary of any missed games.

Quarterback Michael Penix Jr. will not play Friday for the Atlanta Falcons in their preseason finale, head coach Kevin Stefanski said Wednesday.

No decision has been made on the team's Week 1 starter at the position, Stefanski also said.

This appears to be a medical-management decision, not evidence that Tua has won the regular-season job. Penix would offer the more attractive fantasy environment for Drake London, but Atlanta’s elite skill players remain largely quarterback-proof at their current prices.

New York Giants wide receiver Calvin Austin III will miss the upcoming season after suffering a torn ACL in his right knee while running a route at Tuesday's training camp practice, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Austin, 27, signed with the Giants this offseason after spending the first four years of his career with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He had 31 catches for 372 yards with three touchdowns last season.

Austin was outside the top 250, but his absence creates an opening for Berrios, Beckham, or Darnell Mooney to handle more slot reps. It also marginally consolidates targets around Nabers, though not enough to move him materially from WR13.
