Washington 'not closing any doors' when it comes to QB Taylor Heinicke in 2022

Ron Rivera has talked often about the team’s search for a franchise quarterback and said he’s not “closing any doors” when asked about Heinicke possibly remaining the starter beyond this season.

Heinicke has been leading Washington back into the playoff picture. Rivera said good things about Heinicke, pointing out he's only had 11 starts but "continues to grow and develop." Rivera added he hopes the offense comes along with him. Rivera made some headlines a few weeks ago, saying the team is always looking for the next franchise QB. Getting back WR Curtis Samuel and TE Logan Thomas down the stretch could also be a huge boost for Heinicke.
