Cowboys TE Dalton Schultz (knee) is expected to play Sunday against the Commanders.

Schultz missed last Monday's win against the Giants with the PCL injury he suffered in Week 2 against the Bengals. He's listed as questionable but did practice in a limited capacity all week. If he is able to play, he will be a solid option against a middling Washington defense against tight ends. Schultz is currently our No. 13 TE this week.

Jerry Jones is not sure if Dalton Schultz will be available this week vs. NY Giants. “The issue is whether he goes this week or not," the owner said on 105.3 The Fan. "I don’t look for this to be, my assessment is, it’s not long term.”

This is great news for owners as it looked like Schultz suffered a serious knee injury in Week 2. Owners may not be able to count on him this week, however, so a backup plan is probably necessary.

Dalton Schultz' PCL problem is apparently the same one that bothered Ezekiel Elliot in 2021. It is unknown if the tight end will be forced to miss time at the moment.

The injury popped up near the very end of the win against the Bengals, so it's hard to gauge the usage of the tight ends behind him. It would likely be a committee approach between Peyton Hendershot and blocking TE Jake Ferguson, neither of which would make much difference in the fantasy-sphere.

The Dallas Cowboys are using their franchise tag on TE Dalton Schultz.

The team had zero tight ends healthy or under contract. Schultz broke out in 2021 and appears set to be a top three passing option for Dak Prescott if the Cowboys decide to move on from Amari Cooper.

Cowboys TE Blake Jarwin underwent hip surgery late February that is considered uncommon for an active NFL player. His status is uncertain for the 2022 season.

This is terrible news for Jarwin, who was re-signed prior to injuries derailing his past two seasons. Dalton Schultz is a free agent but now may be a top priority for the Cowboys to re-sign as they have zero of their top three 2021 tight ends locked in for 2022 due to free agency or injury.

The Cowboys will be without two of their top WRs for Week 12, Amari Cooper (COVID) and CeeDee Lamb (concussion).

Lamb suffered a concussion in Week 11 against the Chiefs and Rapoport said the timing likely prevents him from getting back on the field before the slate of Thanksgiving Day games. Rapoport added that's not official as of yet, but four days would likely be too quick of a turnaround for exiting the league's protocol. Meanwhile, Cooper's COVID window takes him through Week 12's game. Gallup and Wilson look to be the team's top-two WRs with TE Schultz likely getting involved as well.
