According to another Boyle post, Carroll said it will take a couple of days for Geno Smith's elbow to quiet down, but said, "There’s no structural issue there, but he’s got a sore elbow." Smith was listed as a non-participant for Monday's practice, but according to his coach could very well be on the field Thursday night against the 49ers. Smith already had a leg up and now Lock looks like he'll miss a big chance to try and make a claim to the job in live game action starting with the ones.

Neither option is genuinely going to affect the skill positions in Seattle positively, but it would be nice to know the starter for late-round 3-QB builds on Underdog and deep Superflex leagues. The Seattle Seahawks may be without possible future Hall of Famer Russell Wilson, but at least they will offer whoever wins this putrid quarterback competition one of the best young wide receivers in the game. Metcalf and Tyler Lockett will reprieve their tag team role at least one more time, but it's unclear if there will be another viable pass-game option after the duo and, possibly, Noah Fant.
