Although Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles remained sidelined Tuesday, it's now clear that the star running back's injury is minor. After being evaluated by two orthopedic doctors, Charles is listed as "day to day." The Chiefs have ruled out any long-term issue such as a Lisfranc injury, reports Adam Teicher of the Kansas City Star.
Charles could be back on the field as soon as Wednesday, but we would still expect the Chiefs to play it cautiously and hold him out of Friday's game versus the San Francisco 49ers.
It tells us so much, yet so little, but at least we take take from this that the injury is not serious. Continue to draft Charles as a top-four fantasy back, and if you're still unsure, here is another blurb from the story to help make you feel better:
"Reid will try to dictate coverages and exploit mismatches by lining Charles up as a traditional tailback, as the deep back in the pistol, as a slot receiver and even split out wide."
