Commanders place Carson Wentz on injured reserve

The Commanders placed quarterback Carson Wentz on injured reserve with a broken ringer suffered during the team’s Week 6 Thursday night game against the Bears. Taylor Heinicke will take over as starter.

Fantasy Impact:

Wentz is now out for at least four games, which also means he will not be around for his two return visits to Indianapolis and Philadelphia. He can return to game action November 20 against the Texans. Heinicke and the Commanders had the mini-bye to prepare for the Packers. Heinicke played 16 games last season, throwing for over 3,400 yards, 20 touchdowns and 15 interceptions. He checks in as our No. 22 quarterback this week.
