Tight End Sleepers, Values & Breakouts (2025)

As I outlined in Strategery, I’m a longtime advocate of drafting a Stud TE, and I particularly like George Kittle in the third round this season. But sometimes draft position doesn’t lend itself to drafting an elite tight end, and if I miss out, there are good options as the draft wears on.
In last year’s version of this article, I identified Jonnu Smith and Taysom Hill as Sleepers, and Brock Bowers as a (fairly obvious) Breakout Candidate. Let’s see who fits the bill this season.
Values
Tucker Kraft, Packers (ADP 9.05)
If I don’t get a Stud TE early, then Kraft is my primary target at the position.
He finished TE8 in his second season and is primed for another leap in production if he can earn a larger role in the offense. But that’s the problem with drafting Packer receivers–Matt LaFleur and Jordan Love spread the ball around so much it’s tough to count on anyone in a given week.
Kraft led the position in yards after contact and broken tackles per catch, so he’s got the talent to join the top 5. He should finish TE8 again at a minimum, barring injury. LaFleur agrees, saying, “If there’s an area we gotta do a better job on, I would say featuring the tight end.” This probably means more Luke Musgrave, but maybe, just maybe, it means a lot more Tucker Kraft.
