Streaming Quarterbacks: Week 13 Fantasy Football Targets
For most of us, this is the final week of the fantasy football regular season. If you are in need of a streaming quarterback, we are here to help. Hopefully if you’ve been employing a QB streaming strategy this season, this column has brought you into your league’s playoff picture.
Last week, our choice of Case Keenum on Thanksgiving carved up some silver and blue meat in Detroit en route to 27.3 points and a QB3 finish for the week.
For the season, our top streaming picks are now averaging 23.6 fantasy points per game. That’s ahead of what DeShaun Watson averaged as QB1 in fantasy points per game and more overall points than Russell Wilson has as the top healthy fantasy quarterback! The average of all of our streaming picks this season is more than Matthew Stafford is averaging as QB8 in total points.
Our standard for this exercise will always be to select only quarterbacks owned in 40 percent or fewer of Yahoo! leagues. We will use that standard as not to be accused of stretching the definition of “streamer” (plus, we like a challenge). It will also allow for similar potential on other sites.
Here are those options for Week 13:
Josh McCown (NYJ) vs. KC
These are the fantasy point totals the Chiefs have allowed to fantasy quarterbacks in their last three road games: 35.5, 30.2 and 26.7 to DeShaun Watson, Derek Carr, and Dak Prescott, respectively. Watson was great when healthy, but not exactly the Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers of the world. Meanwhile, Josh McCown is quietly averaging more than 16 fantasy points per game at home this season, including more than 25 last week against a tougher Panthers defense. Kansas City is also outside the top 20 in our aFPA versus QB rankings.
McCown is owned in 31% of Yahoo! leagues.
