Kyler Murray ruled out Monday; Carson Wentz confirmed as starter

Vikings

Nov 05 · 2:49 PM EST

Kevin O’Connell ruled Kyler Murray out against Buffalo with a hamstring strain and described him as week-to-week. Carson Wentz will start Monday night, with Max Brosmer serving as the backup.

Fantasy Impact:

Wentz is now a confirmed QB2 option for Superflex managers, including those replacing Murray. Jefferson remains a WR1, Addison a WR3/FLEX, and Hockenson a lower-end TE1. Minnesota’s secondary receivers remain difficult to trust. Murray can stay on benches where roster space allows, but managers should prepare for the possibility that his absence extends beyond one game.

Carson Wentz trending toward Monday night start

Adam Schefter

Nov 05 · 1:04 PM EST

Adam Schefter reported that Carson Wentz is trending toward starting against Buffalo on Monday night while Kyler Murray deals with a hamstring injury. Minnesota has not confirmed the starting quarterback.

Fantasy Impact:

Wentz is an immediate Superflex pickup and would enter the QB2 conversation if confirmed as the starter. Murray managers should secure Wentz or choose a Sunday alternative before leaving themselves exposed to Monday’s late decision. Jefferson remains a WR1, Addison a WR3/FLEX, and Hockenson a lower-end TE1. Wentz’s potential start does not make Jennings or Minnesota’s other secondary receivers dependable fantasy options.

Viking QB Kyler Murray dealing with hamstring soreness

Pro Football Talk

Nov 02 · 4:05 PM EST

Vikings quarterback Kyler Murray said he was dealing with hamstring tightness late in Sunday’s loss to the Lions and his hamstring remains an issue on Monday.

Related players: Carson Wentz

Fantasy Impact:

Murray did not leave Sunday’s game and is dealing with soreness. Murray will be fully evaluated before the team makes any determination about his status for their Week 9 Monday night game against the Bills, the story said. Since the game is Monday night, Murray owners may want to grab Wentz off the wire if he's there just in case this comes down to a late decision. The team plans to start Murray as long as he's healthy, the story said.

Jordan Mason questionable after three full practices

Vikings

Oct 23 · 3:14 PM EDT

Jordan Mason is questionable for Sunday against Indianapolis after practicing fully all week. Kevin O’Connell said the outlook is positive, but Minnesota still needs to activate Mason from injured reserve before he can play.

Related Players: Aaron Jones, DeeJay Dallas, Demond Claiborne, Kyler Murray

Fantasy Impact:

If activated and cleared for a meaningful workload, Mason would enter FLEX consideration with RB2 upside. His return would make Jones a more volume-sensitive RB2/FLEX as the two share opportunities. If Mason remains unavailable, Jones would have a clearer path to the lead workload and become the stronger RB2 play.
