Perfect Fantasy Football Draft: 8th in a 12-Team Yahoo Half-PPR League

Picking from the back quarter in 2026 Yahoo fantasy football leagues but not being at the turn means you’re kinda getting hit from both sides. Not only have you (presumably) missed on the tippy-top elite options, but you also don’t have the luxury of grabbing back-to-back picks to ease that pain. But no matter. We can still craft a strong roster by grabbing value and doing what we can to stay within our tiers.

In this article, I walk through my favorite likely available targets each round based on Yahoo ADP via 4for4’s Multi-Site ADP tool, with a discussion on strategy from this spot.

My Plan When Drafting 8th in a 12-Team League

Roster Settings: 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 FLEX (WR/RB/TE), 1 Kicker, 1 DEF, seven bench spots

Picking eighth usually means reacting to what falls rather than forcing one rigid build.
If the elite running backs are gone, I’m comfortable opening with a high-floor WR1 and building from there.
The 2/3/4 rounds are where this build can go in a lot of different directions, but I want at least one running back and multiple target earners before the fifth.
Tyler Warren/Tucker Kraft/Sam LaPorta are priority tight end targets if they fall into the middle rounds.
If we leave the first five rounds with only one running back, the next few picks need to add volume paths, even if the profiles aren’t perfect.
Quarterback can wait unless a clear value falls.
The lack of extraneous rules (full PPR, points per first down, TE premium, etc.) in default Yahoo settings allows us the ability to attack Best Player Available (BPA) at a much easier clip.
We will be ignoring defense and kickers until the final two rounds (15 & 16) every single time.
