Packers are placing rookie RB MarShawn Lloyd on injured reserve due to an ankle injury.

Lloyd dealt with a hamstring injury leading up to the season and has now injured his ankle enough to be placed on IR, and he'll miss the next four games. The team did sign Brooks from their practice squad but Wilson looks to be the backup to Jacobs.

Packers running back MarShawn Lloyd did not practice on Tuesday after working earlier in the week, but head coach Matt LaFleur said that it wasn’t because of a setback with his hamstring injury.

LaFleur said, via Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com, that Lloyd had “two good days” and that the day off was part of the process of getting the third-round pick back to full speed ahead of Friday’s game against the Eagles. Lloyd would be a risky play even if he's active. Jacobs is the clear starter, but the team may go with Wilson as the RB2 depending how Lloyd does leading up to Friday night.

Running back A.J. Dillon was placed on injured reserve and was not designated to return, meaning he is done for the year.

Dillon recently suffered another stinger and last week said he was awaiting test results. Head coach Matt LaFleur had said “absolutely there’s a concern” with Dillon’s injury, noting that Green Bay would proceed cautiously.

Dillon, 26, was expected to be the primary backup to running back Jacobs, and the team recently announced the rookie Lloyd will start the season on the PUP list and miss the first four games of the season at least. Wilson and Merriweather are now behind Jacobs, but it's possible the Packers will have to make a move at the position at least until Lloyd comes back.

Christian Watson (hamstring), Jayden Reed (toe), De’Vondre Campbell (neck), Darnell Savage (shoulder), and Elgton Jenkins (shoulder) are present but not practicing.

We should expect the typical Packers RB split in Week 16, but Jones remains the higher-upside play here, and should be considered a low-end RB2, while Dillon is in FLEX considerations for deep leagues.

Jones hurt his knee in Sunday’s win over the Chargers and Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that he has been diagnosed with an MCL sprain. He is considered unlikely to play on Thanksgiving and will be week-to-week moving forward.

The story went on to say the Packers had Wilson go down with a shoulder injury shortly after Jones was injured and both players were listed as non-participants in practice on Monday. The Packers signed Taylor to the active roster to go with Dillon, and Robinson was added to the practice squad. The team will likely roll with Dillon as their main back in a tough matchup against the Lions

The knee injury Aaron Jones suffered doesn't appear to be as serious as first thought, according to Ian Rapoport.

Good news for Jones as the first reaction didn't appear to be very good. Jones was able to return to stand on the sideline which could be a good sign. It also seems, according to Rapoport, they have ruled out an ACL tear. Jones will have an MRI on Monday but the overall believe is it's not nearly as serious as first thought.

With Jones missing time due to hamstring issues, the Packers are bringing in Robinson for depth. Robinson has bounced around since standing out with the Jaguars and injuring his Achilles, so expectations should probably be tempered for now. Dillon did have his best game in Week 5 filling in for Jones before the team's Week 6 bye. The signing could be a hint that Jones will need more time to recover from his hammy injury as well, so stay tuned to the team's injury report this week.

Jones played a limited role in his return to action last week after missing two games. As the story said, Jones apparently emerged with the injury still bothering him. He was limited in practices throughout the past week. If Jones is out, Dillon is expected to take over the lead role, but he hasn't been great this season, carry 44 times for 118 yards.

Dillon performed fine in his Week 2 spot start, accruing 63 total yards, but it did take him 16 touches to get there. The Packers are once again dealing with offensive line injuries, but Jones should slide right back into a high-end RB2 role if he is fully healthy ahead of Week 3's matchup against the Saints.
