The Jags will hope for the return BTJ from an ankle injury to go along with newly-acquired Meyers as well as Washington. The move for Meyers makes a lot more sense now for the Jags.

Schefter said multiple teams including the Steelers and Jaguars had shown interest in Meyers, who is scheduled to become a free agent after his contract expires this season. For the Jags, with Hunter on IR, and BTJ suffering an ankle injury, they needed another option with Washington also a big part of the offense. For the Raiders, this seems to open the door for their rookie WRs in Thornton and Bech, who haven't been involved much so far this season. Tucker looks to be the team's top WR target, of course battling TE Brock Bowers for targets as well.

Jaguars WR/CB Travis Hunter (knee) was hurt during practice Thursday. He will be put on IR and miss at least four games, HC Liam Coen said Friday morning.

Brutal run out for what has been an underwhelming two-way experiment to this point in the season. Hunter is in drop territory for smaller leagues and is honestly in that same consideration for deeper leagues, considering he's only broken double-digit points once this season.

Coen hinted at some lineup shifting after the bye week, saying: "We are going to play the best 11 [on each side of the ball] as much as humanly possible." He said that during an answer about assessing Travis Hunter's play and if they would be updating the plan for Hunter's usage after the bye.

Reading between the lines, it looks like Hunter is going to be a significant player in the offense going forward. That's what Coen said heading into last Sunday's game against the Rams, and then Hunter led the Jaguars in targets (14), catches (eight) and receiving yards (101) while playing a season-high 64 snaps. He now leads the team in receptions (28) and is second in receiving yards (298).

The story said don't be surprised if Hunter starts getting the WR1 treatment from the Jaguars in the season's second half, and that's partly due to his playmaking and run-after-the-catch ability, but also because Thomas hasn't played at that level all season. BTJ has five drops and has had really one solid fantasy game for owners this season. BTJ owners have already seen Brown, Washington and Patrick snag balls from Trevor Lawrence this season so when the team says they are going to play the best 11 players, it can't help but feel like bad news for Thomas. We just posted a story about how the Jaguars say they are not planning to trade Thomas, but it looks like he could be operating as a WR2 for the second half of the season. Hopefully for BTJ owners this is a wake-up call for the second year WR.

In the first two weeks of the season, Jaguars No. 2 overall pick Travis Hunter played more offensive snaps than defensive snaps.

That trend flipped in Jacksonville’s Week 3 victory over Houston.

Hunter was on the field for 37 offensive snaps (53 percent) and 43 defensive snaps (68 percent).

He’s now played 59 percent of Jacksonville’s offensive snaps this year and 47 percent of defensive snaps, plus four percent of special teams snaps, the story said. But the more concerning news is his usage. He had one pass for 21 yards on two targets in Week 3. He had eight targets in Week 2. Hunter has 10 receptions for 76 yards, with only two of his catches resulting in first downs this season. He's now a huge question mark for fantasy lineups heading into Week 4.

The Jaguars may hold Travis Hunter out of preseason game 2, as he deals with an upper body injury. Just a precaution, per coach Liam Coen.

This shouldn't impact the regular season as it stands, but we'll keep an eye on it. Hunter is current ranked as a fringe WR2/3.

WR Dyami Brown to the Jaguars on a one-year $10 million deal worth up to $12 million.

This is more likely to cut into Davis's snap share than it will create a fantasy commodity out of Brown. Even with this signing, the Jaguars could very well add another pass-catcher before Spring is over.
