Raiders Beat: TE Michael Mayer could see increase in targets

Brock Bowers will obviously see his targets increase, so should Michael Mayer.

Fantasy Impact:

The Raiders WR room isn't exactly a lot of household names, and with Bowers almost a WR anyway, having Mayer in the fold getting more work makes some sense. McFadden added in his post that, against Jacksonville, Mayer was targeted seven times for three catches and 26 yards last week, as Raiders utilized 12 personnel more than any game this season. This could be a theme going forward for the Raiders, making Mayer a guy to take a shot on and at least stash away for a few weeks to see if this theory pans out.

Raiders trade WR Jakobi Meyers to Jaguars

ESPN sources: Raiders are trading WR Jakobi Meyers to the Jacksonville Jaguars in exchange for fourth- and sixth-round picks.

Fantasy Impact:

Schefter said multiple teams including the Steelers and Jaguars had shown interest in Meyers, who is scheduled to become a free agent after his contract expires this season. For the Jags, with Hunter on IR, and BTJ suffering an ankle injury, they needed another option with Washington also a big part of the offense. For the Raiders, this seems to open the door for their rookie WRs in Thornton and Bech, who haven't been involved much so far this season. Tucker looks to be the team's top WR target, of course battling TE Brock Bowers for targets as well.

WR watch: Kyle Shanahan said the team would not open Brandon Aiyuk's practice window this week. He said Ricky Pearsall (knee) has a chance to play but will be evaluated at mid week.

Fantasy Impact:

Both WRs continue to inch closer to getting back to action. Reports a few weeks ago said that Aiyuk wasn't all that close, but more recent ones said he was getting there. It's clear the team is taking it slow with Aiyuk. The Niners Wire suggested the team may be trying to manage his return around the Week 14 bye, where they'll get a bonus practice in the Monday after the bye. Niners Wire also suggested the team could just not be ready to bring back Aiyuk because they're not confident he'd be able to be ready to play in a game within his 21-day window. That potentially means Aiyuk is closer to another month away from returning. We'll likely know more about Pearsall with practice reports this week.
