Panthers WR D.J. Moore (hamstring) was limited at practice Wednesday.

The last thing Cam Newton or P.J. Walker needs is their top wideout to not be playing on game day.

Matt Rhule said WR D.J. Moore suffered a hamstring pull in the game on Sunday & is day-to-day.

Moore finished with 10 targets catching six for 84 yards against the Falcons. The loss to Atlanta was a big blow to any playoff hopes for Carolina so there may not be a lot of incentive to rush back Moore as this point. Anderson led the way with 12 targets and a 7-84-1 line while Zylstra added a 4-45-0 line. It's possible rookie Marshall could be more of a factor but he didn't draw a target despite being active in Week 14.

Matt Rhule said we'll see a vastly different look from the Panthers moving forward.

It sounds like the team wants to get back to running the ball. The tweet said Rhule added they won't throw 40 times a game. Rhule also said: "We're going to redefine who we are and we're going to run the football and protect the quarterback." It will help to get McCaffrey back in the fold, but Hubbard proved worthy in the run game against the Eagles in Week 5, rushing for over 100 yards. Hubbard ran just 16 times in Week 6 while Darnold threw 41 times.

Robby Anderson was scheduled to make $8 million in 2021, but with extension the Panthers added $4.5 million to this season to make his 2021 salary $12.5 million. He will get $13 million in 2022 and $12 million in 2023, per a league source.

Anderson is coming off a big year in which he caught 95 balls for 1,096 yards and three TDs. Anderson will at least run second behind assumed WR1 Moore, but will also compete with rookie Terrance Marshall, who the team said will have a role this year. RB Christian McCaffrey is also a top target in the passing game, who was missing much of last year. But Anderson does have the benefit of working with Sam Darnold, who should be the QB starter. But the rookie who shined brightest Sunday was wideout Terrace Marshall, who pulled in three passes for 88 yards, including a 60-yard gain on a scramble play by P.J. Walker.

The story said David Moore didn’t have a bad day (two catches for 26 yards), but Marshall seemingly has a leg up on the No. 3 WR competition. Marshall will still be behind D.J. Moore and Anderson, and of course RB Christian McCaffrey when it comes to pass catching, but Marshall's certainly a name to watch. We had a story on Marshall last week that said the Panthers do have big plans for him.

Marshall is expected to win the WR3 job ahead of Moore and it sounds like he's taking advantage of his time. Keep in mind, Christian McCaffrey will also be heavily involved in the passing game and Marshall will play behind Anderson and D.J. Moore.

Rookie wide receiver Terrace Marshall has been the sparkling surprise among the offensive rookies in camp, drawing comparisons in stature to former Carolina receiver Mushin Muhammad and Hall-Of-Famer Michael Irvin.

Marshall has turned in some impressive catches through the first week. Marshall has been competing for the slot position alongside veteran David Moore, but HC Matt Rhule said Monday his top two receivers are still unquestionably D.J. Moore and Anderson.
