The passing attack didn't look great with Case Keenum under center, but Noah Brown saw a huge target share, turning 11 into 8-82-1. If Nico Collins is good to go for Week 16, he should slide back into the No. 1 role, which should offer a fantasy WR2 with limited upside if C.J. Stroud misses, which looks like the strongest possibility.

Texans tight end Dalton Schultz is trending toward returning Sunday after missing the past two games with a strained hamstring.

There were whispers that Schultz could lead the Texans in receiving this year, before we realized that C.J. Stroud would turn his receiving room into superstars. Now, with so many injuries in the WR room, it doesn't seem as farfetched for the veteran tight end to lead the way through the rest of the year. If he's cleared before Sunday, he should be considered a locked-in TE1.

Texans tight end Dalton Schultz didn't practice again due to hamstring injury and is expected to miss Sunday's road game against Jets with Brevin Jordan set to start again after career-high for receiving yards in win over Broncos.

With Tank Dell going down early during a goal-line QB sneak last week, Brevin Jordan got even more run than he may have. He was targeted down the field on a few occasions, finishing with a 3-64-0 line on five targets. Jordan should be in streaming considerations for deep leagues.

WR Tank Dell (calf) has returned to practice today after missing yesterday. DeMeco Ryans had been optimistic about Dell. A good sign. TE Dalton Schultz (hamstring) missed yesterday and isn't on the field today.

Brevin Jordan is the only other tight end on the team with a receiving touchdown this year, but only has five other catches. He should get a boost in usage without Schultz but his workload is unlikely to be trustworthy enough to get him in a lineup.

The Texans are signing TE Dalton Schultz to a one-year deal worth up to $9 million. Schultz has 198 catches and 17 TDs over the past three seasons in Dallas. He’s still only 26.

So Schultz will remain in Texas and provide another option for the future 2nd-overall pick. The Texans have had intriguing names at the position over the years but never one that has consistently produced for fantasy. Hopefully Schultz changes that.

Texans tight end Pharaoh Brown said in June that he expects to be an All-Pro this season. He fell quite a bit short of that.

The Texans released Brown today, according to multiple reports.

Brown has started three games this season and caught seven passes for 72 yards. Jordan and Howard will see more playing time in Houston with Brown out, the story pointed out. Jordan is dealing with an ankle injury and while Howard caught two TDs on opening week, he's only had a 3-34-0 line over the past three weeks.

Houston head coach Lovie Smith referred to Brown as "our starting tight end" during Tuesday's post-practice news conference.

The story said Smith feels Brown is the most complete tight end on the team when one considers blocking, but the coach also talked about his catching skills and said he'll have a "big role." The story added Jordan may be the leading TE target in passing situations, however. So it seems like this may be an area that needs more time to figure out from a fantasy perspective.
