QB Streaming Week 5: Time To Ride The Jameis Winston Rollercoaster

Seven quarterbacks threw for at least 300 yards in Week 4, including Joe Burrow and Jared Goff, who topped 400 yards each. However, it wasn’t a big week for touchdown passes. Drake Maye, Aaron Rodgers, and Jameis Winston were the only quarterbacks to throw three touchdown passes. Seven quarterbacks had at least two interceptions, including Jacoby Brissett throwing three picks.

As we turn our attention to Week 5, bye weeks now come into play. The Chiefs and Panthers will have the week off, meaning those who have enjoyed the production of Patrick Mahomes and Bryce Young might need to hit the waiver wire for a replacement.

For streaming purposes, 4for4’s Schedule-Adjusted Fantasy Points Allowed (aFPA) is a metric we rely heavily on to determine weekly matchup strength. As the season progresses and more data is available, aFPA becomes more and more reliable, using rolling 10-week data.

Week 4 Recap

Sam Darnold was the top performer among our selections last week, finishing as QB18. The Seahawks leaned heavily on their rushing attack, leaving Darnold to attempt just 22 passes. That was a big step down from his 45 pass attempts versus the Commanders the week prior. With fewer opportunities, he posted 168 passing yards, two touchdowns, and one interception.

In terms of the biggest disappointment, Daniel Jones laid an egg in London, finishing the week as QB31. He posted his first rushing touchdown of the season, but only threw for 143 yards and did not have a score through the air. He also had his fourth straight game with an interception. It didn’t help his cause that Keenan Allen (groin) popped up on the injury report late in the week and was ultimately unable to play.

Jacoby Brissett (Cardinals) vs. Lions (16%)

The three interceptions killed Brissett against the Giants. Prior to that, he was picked off just one time over his first three games. On the bright side, he did post his second straight game with two touchdown passes. Dating back to last season, the veteran quarterback has finished with at least two scores through the air in 12 of his last 16 games. With the Cardinals allowing 29.3 points per game, their offense usually needs to throw a lot to try and keep pace. That has resulted in them attempting the ninth-most passes in the league.
