Dead Weight Report: Week 10 Fantasy Football Drop List

We have three fantasy-packed teams watching from home for a restful vacation spot this week, plus the Titans, along with a myriad of injuries continuing to plague the league, but there are still drops to be had and moves to be made.

We should always be looking for roster improvements, so cutting underperforming players is a necessary evil.

Editor's Note: Check out the Week 10 Waiver Wire Watch.

Alvin Kamara, RB - Saints

This is a rough one, and it’s doubtful many of you will send Alvin Kamara to the waiver wire, but it’s worth considering if you need the room on your roster. He’s had just six carries in each of the last two contests, which have translated to measly 35 total rushing yards with another 27 via the air.

Kamara is the RB42 in half-PPR scoring on a per-game basis through nine weeks, and it just seems like this iteration of the Saints offense is not conducive to his success in both fantasy and real life. He also may be in the dog house after getting a ball punched out last week, since he did not see a carry on the remaining two drives. Kamara is rostered in 96% of Yahoo leagues, but he probably shouldn’t be moving forward.

Chuba Hubbard, RB - Panthers

It appears the Panthers are rolling with Rico Dowdle as their lead back, considering he got a whopping 27 touches to Chuba Hubbard’s five in Week 9. Hubbard was also only on the field for 22% of the snaps compared to Dowdle’s 72%, and there’s no reason to think that Dave Canales will do anything differently moving forward. Hang on if you want in case of injury, but Hubbard is off the fantasy radar as things stand right now.

Jakobi Meyers, WR - Raiders

The time has finally come to move on from Jakobi Meyers. He’s averaging just 5.6 in half-PPR scoring since Week 3 (WR74), and hasn’t had more than four receptions in a game in that time frame. The volume goes through Brock Bowers in this Las Vegas offense, and Meyers just isn’t returning enough value, plus it doesn’t help the situation that the Raiders play Denver twice, the Chargers, Eagles, Texans, and Chiefs in the coming weeks who all sit within the top six defenses in schedule-adjusted fantasy points allowed (aFPA) to the WR position.

Kenneth Gainwell, RB - Steelers

He was hot pickup after Week 1 as Kenneth Gainwell saw 50% of the snaps and saw 11 touches to start the season. He was a decent fill-in while Jaylen Warren was injured, but since the latter regained his starting role after the Week 5 bye, Gainwell has averaged 4.25 carries, with the short-yardage and goal-line work going to Warren.

As a result, he’s only posting 4.3 in half-PPR scoring per game since Week 6 as the RB55. While Gainwell operates as a nice handcuff, his lack of stand-alone value makes him less rosterable than say someone like Bhayshul Tuten or Devin Neal moving forward.

Brashard Smith, RB - Chiefs

Isiah Pacheco was on the shelf last week, and Brashard Smith still only saw three carries, which he turned into a total of just seven yards. The Chiefs are on a bye this week, and Smith just isn’t worth holding onto since his value only comes into play if both Pacheno and Kareem Hunt are sidelined.

Also Droppable: Kyler Murray, Elic Ayomanor, Darnell Mooney, Evan Engram, Keon Coleman, Hollywood Brown
