Fantasy Football Tight End Streaming Week 13: Gray Skies Over the Streaming Streets

Tight End Streaming Week 13

The tight end position continues to solidify the further we get into the season, with 11 options hitting double-digit points and 18 hitting 6.0+ last week. The issue is, for people who still don’t have a solid option, there are a whopping 23 players rostered in over 40% of Yahoo leagues, which makes our job incredibly difficult in Week 13. Luckily, there are no byes on Thanksgiving week, so it opens things up a little bit.

For streaming purposes, 4for4’s Schedule-Adjusted Fantasy Points Allowed (aFPA) is a metric we rely heavily on to determine weekly matchup strength. As the season progresses and more data is available, aFPA becomes more and more reliable, using rolling 10-week data. Targets and efficiency metrics are also considered when choosing weekly streamers.

To provide the advice you can implement, candidates for streaming must be rostered in no more than 40% of Yahoo! fantasy leagues.

Week 12 Recap

A good-not-great week in the TE streaming streets, as we hit on three TE2’s and one TE1 finish, with no particularly remarkable outcomes. The point totals certainly got us by, but I would doubt any of them won the week for you.

Isaiah Likely did come out of Monday Night Football with exactly zero points, but I referenced this possibility in last week’s write-up; “I’m including Likely here against my better judgment, but he does have the highest ceiling of the rest of the waiver wire options and is in boom/bust range for Week 12. It’s just that the “bust” is quite literally 0.0 points.”

We say goodbye to both Will Dissly and Zach Ertz from streaming recommendations, which means we’re about to dig even deeper.

Noah Gray (Chiefs vs. Raiders)

You know it’s a slow week in the streaming streets when we’re touchdown-chasing our top option, but our choices are minimal, and there are some underlying metrics that point toward a bit of a floor, particularly in a great matchup. Over these last two weeks, Noah Gray’s route participation has swelled to 56.1%, while his target per route run rate has jumped to 20%, both of which are third on the team. This wouldn’t be too exciting on its head, but with Patrick Mahomes keeping the passing game near the line of scrimmage (6.4 aDOT), this creates some easy opportunities for the tight end (when he’s not getting into the end zone).

Better yet, they will face the Las Vegas Raiders on Black Friday, who have allowed the eighth-most schedule-adjusted fantasy points to opposing offenses, including the fifth-most to tight ends. There are no sure bets on this slate, but with the Chiefs coming into this game as whopping 13-point favorites, there’s a reasonable chance that they throttle Travis Kelce down with the playoffs approaching. Gray is available in 96% of Yahoo leagues.
