Fantasy Football Quarterback Streaming Week 4: Stroud Shines in the Face of Pressure

Even with a throwback rushing performance from Lamar Jackson in Week 3, the quarterback landscape in fantasy football is shaping up in a way that I’m sure most of us didn’t see coming. Traditional, pocket-passing quarterbacks are ruling the roost at the moment, with Justin Herbert, Kirk Cousins, Tua Tagovailoa, and Jordan Love making up the entirety of the top four, while Jackson and Jalen Hurts sit at QB6 and QB7, respectively. Chasing pure rushing output has also been a fruitless endeavor, with Justin Fields sitting all the way back at QB21 and Anthony Richardson missing the last game and a half.

We shouldn’t expect this to continue, but it certainly might, and is something to consider while scraping the waiver wire for QB streamers week-to-week.

For streaming purposes, 4for4’s Schedule-Adjusted Fantasy Points Allowed (aFPA) is a metric we rely heavily on to determine weekly matchup strength. As the season progresses and more data is available, aFPA becomes more and more reliable, using rolling 10-week data. Targets and efficiency metrics are also considered when choosing weekly streamers.

Week 3 Recap

We just about nailed two of Week 3’s QB1s but missed out by 1.5 points as Kenny Pickett wound up as fantasy’s QB13. We did correctly project Stroud’s top-10 week, though, as the Texans continue to be refreshingly pass-happy, even during their stunning 37-17 victory over division-mate Jacksonville Jaguars.
