DK Reignmakers Wildcard Weekend Elite Tier Strategy

Welcome to the Wildcard Weekend edition of the 4for4 DraftKings Reignmaker strategy series! Each week Andrew Fleischer and I will both have an article detailing different strategies to help you take home the money in DraftKings’ newest DFS offering played with NFTs.

Andrew and I decided to take last week off from this series and the accompanying show in light of Damar Hamlin needing to be resuscitated on the field. We both felt a little gross about the situation and wanted some time away from the game, but we are back this week for the first round of the NFL playoffs! Be sure to check out our pack opening show on our YouTube Channel!

We’ll start with a recap of last week’s tournament-winning lineup.

I never thought I’d be saying that a Davis Mills and Brandin Cooks stack won someone $100,000, but here we are. Stefon Diggs returned to form, finishing as the fourth-best play at wide receiver in Week 18. A couple of solid running backs in Chubb and Walker rounded out the tournament-winning lineup, finishing as RB1 and the RB10, respectively.

Optimal Options

If money is no object, here are the best plays at each starting spot based on the Wildcard Weekend rankings over at 4for4.

Josh Allen, QB BUF (Elite FP: $690, Rare FP: $65)

With the return of Damar Hamlin to the team, you have to think there will be a ton of emotion for the Bills in their first-round matchup with division-rival Miami. The Dolphins took the first matchup of the season 21-19 back in Week 3, but the Bills narrowly won 32-29 the second time around in Buffalo. Allen is the top-ranked quarterback on the week at 4for4, projecting him for 28.2 DK points. Buffalo is a ten-and-a-half-point home favorite against the Miami Dolphins. Miami gives up the fourth-most schedule-adjusted points in the league to enemy quarterbacks, and the Bills have a 27.55-point implied team total, the highest of the week. I generally like to save my superstar designated player for another position, but Allen is the best play at any position this week.

Christian McCaffery, RB SF (Elite FP: $550, Rare FP: $50)

If I’m not throwing the Superstar tag on Josh Allen, my next choice for the designation would be Christian McCaffery, who is the second-ranked running back at 4for4 and is projected to score 19.5 DK points. San Francisco is an early ten-point road favorite against the Seattle Seahawks, who give up the fifth-most schedule-adjusted fantasy points to opposing running backs. The Niners have a 26.5-point implied team total, the second-highest of the week.

CeeDee Lamb, WR DAL (Elite FP: $279, Rare FP: $42)

Lamb has been one of the most consistent target earners in the league down the stretch, averaging nine per game over the last four games, including 1 in Week 16, and 14 in Week 17. Lamb is ranked as the WR4 overall at 4for4 and is projected to score 17.9 DK points. The Dallas Cowboys are an early three-point road favorite against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who give up the third-most schedule-adjusted fantasy points to opposing wide receivers. The Cowboys have a 24.25-point implied team total, the 5th-highest of the week.

George Kittle, TE SF (Elite FP: $270, Rare FP: $25)

Kittle has gone on an absolute tear over the last four games of the season. He has scored the most fantasy points over that stretch while averaging 21.6 per game, nearly seven points more than T.J. Hockenson, the second-best tight end. Kittle is ranked as the TE2 overall at 4for4 and projects to score 13.4 DK points. San Francisco is an early ten-point road favorite against the Seattle Seahawks, who give up the 11th-most schedule-adjusted fantasy points to opposing tight ends. The Niners have a 26.5-point implied team total, the second-highest of the week.

Stefon Diggs, WR BUF (Elite FP: $520, Rare FP: $49)

After struggling to produce elite fantasy numbers down the stretch, Diggs came back to life with 26.4 DK points, good for WR4 on the week. Diggs is one of the holy grails of DK reignmakers because he isn’t designated as a Superstar, so he can be stacked in lineups with Josh Allen. Diggs is the second-ranked wide receiver at 4for4 and projects to score 20.1 DK points. Buffalo is a ten-and-a-half-point home favorite against the Miami Dolphins. Miami gives up the eighteenth-most schedule-adjusted points in the league to enemy wide receivers, and the Bills have a 27.55-point implied team total, the highest of the week.

Value Plays

Daniel Jones, QB NYG (Elite FP: $179, Rare FP: $37.50)

Jones was a league-winner in season-long Week 17 championship games with four total touchdowns, including two on the ground to go with 91 rushing yards against Minnesota. In the playoffs' first round, he faces that same Vikings team again. Jones is ranked as the third-best quarterback this week by 4for4 and projects to score 21.9 DK points. The Giants are a three-point road dog against the Minnesota Vikings, who give up the tenth-most schedule-adjusted fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks. The Giants have a 22.75-point implied team total, the seventh-highest of the week.

Chris Godwin, WR TB (Elite FP: $225, Rare FP: $32)

I’m never going to doubt Tom Brady in the playoffs, and Chris Godwin has been his most reliable receiver. Godwin hasn’t had one of those massive three-touchdown games like Mike Evans (who is also a solid play this week), but he has averaged 8.8 targets per game over the season's final four weeks. Godwin is ranked as the WR8 this week at 4for4 and is projected to score 14.7 DK points. Tampa Bay is a three-point home dog against the Dallas Cowboys, who give up the ninth-most schedule-adjusted fantasy points to opposing wide receivers. The Buccaneers have a 21.25-point implied team total, the ninth-highest of the week.

That’s going to do it for this week’s edition. If there’s something you would like covered in a weekly strategy article for DraftKings Reignmakers contests, please feel free to reach out to me on Twitter!
