Fantasy Football Tight End Streaming Week 12: More Foster
It's Thanksgiving week, and as you gaze into your immediate future of gravy-slathered carcasses and possible political disputation, give yourself a moment to make sure your fantasy teams are set up for success. As there are so few fantasy tight ends we can count on over a week-to-week basis, the first step in the process is likely to be scrambling to find who you should be plugging into that most capricious starting role for Week 12. With no bye weeks on tap for one of the busiest football weeks of the year, we should be able to grab someone who can contribute in the short term and, possibly, the long term.

For streaming purposes, 4for4’s Schedule-Adjusted Fantasy Points Allowed (aFPA) is a metric we rely heavily on to determine weekly matchup strength. As the season progresses and more data is available, aFPA becomes more and more reliable, using rolling 10-week data. Targets and efficiency metrics are also considered when choosing weekly streamers.
To provide the advice you can implement, candidates for streaming must be rostered in no more than 40% of Yahoo! fantasy leagues.
Week 11 Review
It was a thoroughly disgusting fantasy week for tight ends, with only six options hitting double-digit points. Lawrence Cager —who I’ve never heard of— ended up being the Giants’ pass-catching tight end which relegated Tanner Hudson to zero targets, and Tyler Conklin’s team gained 105 yards in the entire game. Nonetheless, we’re not here for excuses but for production from fantasy’s most fickle position. On to Week 12.

Foster Moreau (Raiders) @ Seahawks
Those of us who played Foster Moreau last week are unlikely to want to return to that well, but this matchup dictates that it is probably in our best interest to see it through. Historically, Moreau has stepped in as a Darren Waller replacement and consistently notched TE1 numbers, but that has not quite been the case this season, as the 11.3 half-PPR points he scored in Week 10 have been his high-water mark. He, of course, followed that up with last week’s performance in which he didn’t snag his lone catch until overtime, nearly goose-egging us in embarrassing fashion.
He has a shot at redemption in Week 12 against a Seahawks defense that ranks in the bottom 10 in total yards, explosive pass%, and passing EPA per play, as well as sitting in 32nd place in aFPA to the tight end position. Through 10 games, opposing tight ends have averaged 67.8 yards per game and 9.3 yards per target, both numbers ranking 31st in the league and exhibiting weakness in an already-weak secondary. Ignoring last week’s performance, Moreau is a safe bet to land as a fringe TE1 in Week 12, and he is available in 60% of Yahoo leagues.
