7 Sleepers to Target in Yahoo Fantasy Football Leagues

Average draft position fluctuates throughout the months leading up to the NFL regular season, and never more so than when teams hit the field in pads for the first time. Players drastically fall up and down the draft board as injury news, depth chart battles, and the like begin to trickle out of training camps and preseason games. It’s easy for players to get lost in the weeds, being completely forgotten about as we try to adjust on the fly to the newest available information. That’s why an instrument like the ADP Bargains tool can be such an asset. By pairing 4for4’s rankings with Yahoo’s ADP we can see the players with the most significant discrepancies and thus target the best values.

Below I have highlighted seven such players who are going too late in drafts and should outproduce their current standing on fantasy draft boards. They represent several of my personal favorite ADP outliers, but the tool will show you even more options while rankings and ADP continue to move up and down throughout the rest of the offseason.

Trey Lance, QB - 49ers

Drafters over on the Yahoo platform are still not completely aboard the Trey Lance hype train, drafting him outside of the QB1 category, behind Russell Wilson, Aaron Rodgers, and Matthew Stafford, at the QB13. The case for Lance is simple; his feet and the plethora of yards-after-catch weapons inside the 49ers’ offense. In a small sample size of his two starts last season, he racked up 120 yards rushing, a 60 yards/gm average that would have ranked second in the NFL amongst quarterbacks. Meanwhile, of the 140 players who received at least 50 targets last season, the 49ers would sport three of the top-40 finishers in yards after catch; Deebo Samuel (2nd, 797 yards), George Kittle (17th, 465 yards), and Brandon Aiyuk (38th, 370 yards).

Part of this YAC production is scheme-based, and part is the athleticism of the receiving corp. Regardless, Trey Lance is sure to benefit and deliver fantasy players an abundance of QB1 weeks.
