7 Sleepers to Target in ESPN Fantasy Football Leagues

Average draft position fluctuates throughout the months leading up to the NFL regular season, and never more so than when teams hit the field in pads for the first time. Players drastically fall up and down the draft board as injury news, depth chart battles and the like begin to trickle out of training camps and preseason games. It’s easy for players to get lost in the weeds, being completely forgotten about as we try to adjust on the fly to the newest available information. That’s why an instrument like the ADP Bargains tool can be such an asset. By pairing 4for4’s rankings with ESPN’s ADP we can see the players with the most significant discrepancies and thus target the best values.

Below I have highlighted seven such players who are going too late in drafts and should outproduce their current standing on fantasy draft boards. They represent several of my personal favorite ADP outliers, but the tool will show you even more options while rankings and ADP continue to move up and down throughout the rest of the offseason.

Tyler Allgeier, RB - Falcons

With how thin the Atlanta Falcons' pass-catching group is behind rookie Drake London (i.e., Bryan Edwards, Olamide Zaccheaus, Auden Tate), the team may have to force their hand and pull Cordarrelle Patterson out of the backfield and out-wide a good bit during the 2022 season. This will leave Damien Williams, who sat out 2020 and garnered only 56 touches in 2021, and rookie Tyler Allgeier practically all alone in the backfield.

It may take some time, but Allgeier has the physical tools to become a three-down back in this offense, but a team in the throes of a rebuild should want to see what they have in their rookie back over a 30-year-old running back who has hardly seen the field since Super Bowl 54. With how deep he’s going in ESPN drafts, it’s worth taking a late-round flier on Allgeier and holding him through at least the preseason, if not longer, if you have a deep bench and can wait out a couple of regular season weeks.
