2020 Rankings Breakdown: Running Backs
We've released our initial rankings for the 2020 fantasy football season. Typically, they require some explanation. Our process is arduous and time-tested, and while it provides a good starting point, these rankings can and will change significantly throughout the spring and summer as injuries occur, camp battles develop, and rookies (or other young players) emerge.
Other Rankings Breakdowns: QB | WR | TE
I’m going to go through the initial rankings and explain my thoughts about each position as a whole. I’ll also discuss why a few specific players are ranked where they are (relative to the average best ball ADP). I’ll go over the running backs in this article, and discuss the receiver and tight end positions in upcoming articles.
Early ADP Observations
There are sixteen or so backs who appear to have very predictable workloads heading into the 2020 season: Christian McCaffrey, Dalvin Cook, Ezekiel Elliott, Saquon Barkley, Alvin Kamara, Derrick Henry, Joe Mixon, Miles Sanders, Kenyan Drake, Aaron Jones, Austin Ekeler, Josh Jacobs, Nick Chubb, Todd Gurley, David Johnson and Chris Carson. I’d expect all of these players to see 15 or more touches on a weekly basis.
Of the guys ranked in the top 12 or so, it appears that I’m particularly high on Miles Sanders (+4) and Kenyan Drake (+4), so let’s take a closer look.
