Jeff Ulbrich says RB Breece Hall is "looking good" to play Sunday for the Jets.

They are "hopeful" for CB D.J. Reed. CB Brandin Echols is doubtful.

KR/RB Kene Nwangwu will be put on IR with a broken hand.

Fantasy Impact:

This comes as quite a bit of a surprise and could easily mean he plays in a limited role, which really muddies up the whole situation. If that's the case, this backfield may be an entire avoid with no bye weeks in the first round of Fantasy Playoffs, with Hall falling somewhere in the RB2-RB3 range.

49ers sign RB Israel Abanikanda; RB Christian McCaffrey to IR

The 49ers were down to one healthy running back on their active roster, so they added another one off the waiver wire on Tuesday.

The NFL’s daily transaction report shows that they have claimed Israel Abanikanda off of waivers from the Jets. Abanikanda was let go on Monday when the Jets signed running back/kick returner Kene Nwangwu to the 53-man roster.

Christian McCaffrey was officially moved to injured reserve in a corresponding move.

Fantasy Impact:

Guerendo is expected to take over the team's RB1 role with Christian McCaffrey and Jordan Mason both heading to IR. Abanikanda should be a familiar name to those in dynasty circles. He was a 2023 fifth-round pick but at the time was buried on the depth chart with the Jets, and he never earned much of a role on offense and didn’t play in the regular season this year, the story said. He appeared in six games as a rookie and ran 22 times for 70 yards while catching seven passes for 43 yards, the story added. The team also signed Vaughn to their practice squad.

Fantasy Impact:

With Kendre Miller being entirely unable to stay on the field, Nwangwu could carve out a legitimate early-down role, even if he isn't usable in fantasy. Just one more knock against Miller at this point.

Vikings RB Alexander Mattison likely to miss Week 15

Vikings RB Alexander Mattison (ankle) was briefly on the practice field today during the portion open to reporters, but it did not appear he was participating. Also did not see RT Brian O'Neill (ankle). Not looking good for either of them to play Saturday on a short week.

We should expect Ty Chandler to get a majority of the work here in Nick Mullens first start if Mattison ends up missing Saturday's game. That would make him an RB2 option for Week 15.
