The Eagles added depth to their depleted wide receiver corps Monday afternoon, acquiring 24-year-old Jeff Maehl from the Texans in exchange for offensive lineman Nate Menkin -- who the Eagles acquired from the Texans a year ago.

Maehl, who played for Chip Kelly at Oregon, was undrafted in 2011. He’s had a couple stints on the Texans’ practice squad and played in three games in 2011, mainly on special teams. He didn’t catch any passes.

Fantasy Impact:

Maehl adds some extra legs at camp for a depleted group of Eagles WRs. He likely won't make much of a fantasy impact, but is expected to compete for a special teams job. The Birds don't have much of a WR2 option at the moment, so it's possible you can lump him in with a group that includes Riley Cooper, Damaris Johnson and Russell Shepard. Maehl was the only 1,000-yard receiver at Oregon under Kelly. The Eagles have talked about signing another WR after cuts are made around the league.
